Apple is aware of the January 1970 date bug that bricks iPhones, will fix it in a future update

15 February, 2016
A couple of days ago news emerged about an odd but deadly bug for 64-bit iPhones, iPads, and iPod touch units - setting your date to January 1, 1970 and then restarting the handset will result in a pretty much unfixable bootloop. If you do this for whatever reason, you'll need to visit your local Apple Store to fix the problem, because you won't be able to get rid of it at home.

You dont even have to set the date to brick that iCrap. Now any app can do that for you and that is worst than a virus without any possible antivirus for it.

Well if so let us hope they buy the technology for the mind reading, rather than attempting to develop it themselves, otherwise we would get some really weird scenarios of random behaviour. ;-)

A (really big!) "thank you!", GSMArena, for your so informed and so humorous comments! I can't stop reading you - either for the bare info or the way you find the appropriate "grain of salt" - or both! It is always a pleasure to get informed in such a pleasant way from a tech site like yours!

Eske Rahn, 15 Feb 2016I love to poke fun at aPple, but fixing this? Really? Why ... moreYou don't get it pal... The reason for those bugs is apple's cutting edge technology. So in a way those bugs are innovative by themselves, just another display of iGenius. In a few years time apple will develop mind reading hardware so their engineers don't need to test their os and apps, the system will solve even bad programming

Lol and I always see crApple fanboys boasting about how good their updates are and how often they get them. It's been more than a week and they couldn't fix this simple issue.
