I hope samsung is smart enough to realize that 16Gb +sd card storage is a wrong idea, we are on the 64bit era already, 32gb+sd card must be the minimum spec for this flagship, or they can put 64/128 variants without sd card. we all know that 128Gb/64GB mmc alone is a very expensive thus putting smaller mmc maximize thier profit.

      6GB !!!

This will not make any difference until they know how to optimize the memory usage.

I am having the Note 5 and it is using between 50 to 60% of the memory in the standby without running any application.

Really, Samsung should have a look into this. Adding more memory will not add up anything unless its use is optimized.

Yet it has to re-load every app running in its background.

Well 5GB would be awkward number for ram

I guess 6GB of RAM might be OK, since I've used the Gear VR. Some Gear VR apps and games might need that much memory. As some people are saying here, the more RAM might drain more battery but I think Samsung must have thought about it.
RGB matrix display will surely help with the VR apps. I am now of the opinion that 4K screens in phone are not an overkill, but a necessity if you are going the VR way. Otherwise 4K is definitely an overkill. Since VR is a significant part of Samsung's user experience, a sharper display always helps. And they might not have a 4K display since it requires much more processing power, using an RGB matrix over their diamond pentile matrix will definitely provide better sharpness and less pixelation without requiring additional processing power. Smart move!

As for the 1024 pressure points is downgrade from 2048 pressure points, I am guessing GSMArena is getting confused between the 2048 pressure points of the S-Pen in the Note5. 1024 pressure points in the Note 6 must be for the Display - as in 3D touch, pressure sensitive display. There is no pressure sensitive or 3D touch display in the Note5. Only the S-Pen is pressure sensitive. Something to think about GSMArena!

overkill in my opinion but welcome nonetheless. i'd love to see a note 6 with 6gb of ram as long as the s-pen and ui are beefed up to maximize the boost. productivity at its finest.

just bring back the external storage so that i can get additional time for recording 4K, i love the camera so much, 32/64 GB is not enough, or OTG is not okay also.

Complete overkill and unnecessary for a phone.

For those of you who do not know 6gb will not directly increase performance or will have minimal benefit vs the very costly effect it would have on your battery draining. Android works in that it trys to fill RAM with potential likely applications the user may open to cause them to launch faster by keeping them in background, when Android isn't able to fill the memory it is wasting energy on the free and unused memory which is still available but isn't being used, and then if it were able to fullfill all 6gb of RAM it would be drawing even more energy depreciating the battery very very quickly on applications running in the background that in all likelihood you aren't using and will just be keeping your phone awake more often causing even worse battery life.

Let's use my Note 5 for an example it currently has around 1.5gb ram free at all times, as you can understand from above this is pretty wasteful... it's because I don't even have enough applications for android to constantly fill the 4gb of RAM in my phone... beyond that if I did I would be sustaining even worse battery life because those applications would not only be running in the background but also keeping my phone awake for notifications etc.

Right now 4gb is enough ram as it is it may even be too much in some cases, the ram I don't use still costs me in energy efficiency and if I did sustain the full amount it would cost me even more. I'm not a lightweight user either so I can only imagine how wasteful it would be for the 80% of people who only use their phone for facebook, twitter, snap chat and browsing. Everyone should think about this before they start wishing for more RAM but then complaining about battery life.

This is going to be a powerful phone however it really depends on the user on how they use the phone. But till the time of release we can determine the real performance of the phone. The only way to know how the phone performs is to have it on hand.

6GB seriously??? that's rip off!!! why not 8GB RAM? 1,2,4,8,16,32,64;128,256 and 512 that.'s the standard memory types/capacity but no 6 wth Samsung you fooled again your customers? I think only Apple never rip off or fool its custumer. waiting for Apple's next flagship instead.

I just wonder how much of those 6GB new TouchWiz will absorb but I guess it will be "ok" if there are 2,5 to 3GB available for the user.
As usual, if your lucky you'll get Android N endless months after all the others, but better forget about official android O.
The Note 6 with Windows would be awesome! But only if updates come directly from Microsoft.
