Sony just created a trend for bad image quality. The most important factors in an imaging sensor are the sensor size and the pixel pitch. And this is where they failed (1/2.6 instead of larger 1/2.3" and 1um instead of 1.5um), opting to look good on paper with "22.5 MP" and "image stabilization". Look at the XPeria Z5. Bad image quality, LG V10 has much better image quality with a lower megapixel count sensor.

AnonD-89438, 16 Feb 2016that ois !!!That's just intentionally way too shaky hands when it's off. Of course it lets you a bit of smoothing, but inlens OIS won't let you smoothing anywhere close to standalone IS hardware, like Steadicam and similar.

              Good to hear news.

Its great, maybe they got something new for themselves... Still its behind with taking raw shots and real manual setting(and with not so difficult camera UI settings). They think they did great job by dividing camera shots with video mode, but I'm fan of single tap to record either shot/4k or slowmotion/... Seems to me like they try to copy instead of doing something new in this field.

Uh... One micron is BAD unless you got a REALLY fast lens... ;-(
With Green light you need F1.6 or better - even harder requirement for red light.....
It is basic physics, look up Rayleigh Limit

                            Yeah, and 2 x 2 is 5.

will be interesting to see how other chinese phone makers make better use of this sensor

Both are really impressive. Can't wait to see it in smartphones soon.
