lollerskates, 19 May 2010iphone expensive? yea maybe 2 years ago you can get iphon... morea phone free on a $49 contract (assuming aussie dollar) is not cheap at all but i guess it is for iphone. and that price is for an 8gb iphone 3g not 3gs... You can get android phones 4 as cheap as a $29 contract ($150 worth of calls etc) which is much more affordable.

As for Windows biggest supporter in mobile HTC even they have jumped on board with Android and taken the lead in Android development to the point that there WinMobile handset sales get nowhere near their Android sales do.
As for this LG handset, meh nothing special about it.
Someone mentioned the Viewty (KU990), yes 3 and 1/2 years ago it was the touch screen mobile to have due to having 5MP cam DivX video recording and playback, decent flash based UI which was fast and in general was a multi media powerhouse that was released 8 months before the iPhone and LG really got behind it of course it was going to take off and dominate and to this day LG still make this mobile for the global consumer market.
Anyway back on topic LG should also make an Android version and see which one sells more.

I hope this is just the start of LGs return to ... moreonly coz the lg viewty was pretty much the only affordable touchscreen phone at the time... there were no other "substitute" touch screen phones for consumers to choose from except the iphone which was bloody expensive. but now the market has evolved/improved a lot and there are many choices for consumers too choose from, in different price brackets. so if lg wanna do well they'll need to come up with something great but affordable.

when they try they make the sexiest designs. I still remember the first Lg viewty, nothing compared when it was introduced.

LG has the best cell phone designs. look at Shine, BL40 New Chocolate, GD900 Crystel, KF750 secret and others. Can Apple make anything like that. impossible... Even Their latest Iphone 4G is the copy of LG GD880 mini.
People purchase iphone only because of their apps store. If i offered to chose either an Iphone or a samsung star, I would go for Samsung star. ha ha ha.............

Lg,nokia,htc,samsung,se all of them have ugly designs only iphone is a true leader in great smartphone design and build quality. And as i said before all touch screen phones copy from iphone before iphone touch screen phones were ugly and useless but after iphone's capacitive touch screen every other manufacturer started to copy what the iphone could do it sucks make your own ideas not just copying

WM7 needs native code apps, multitasking, and a good user friendly file system browser with support for external memory..oh and copy/paste please. Otherwise, i can;t really consider it as a smart phone OS. the kernel CE 7 has all of these options for sure, it is a matter of Microsoft allowing the end user to use them. I expect a lot of major OS updates over the years for the WM7 8 9 ..
As of now, Symbian , Maemo/meego, WinMo, and maybe Android are the only ones that have computer like capabilities and can be called smart phone OS. just look at what the Nokia N8 can do with Symbian!
