Why all the hatred for the Pre Plus? - it has been a swift turn around from the exhibition in Feb for go-live in the UK - lets remember what happened last time.
yes they may have messed it up with O2 - but don't knock the phone for that..... As I am led to believe (by all reviews) the OS is the best out there, ans with HP getting in on the act, anyone getting a Pre/Pixi plus should hopefully see the product moving steadily forward
I am gonna get one - just need to decide if I should go for the Pre or Pixi
Just my thoughts - take them as you will.

Yea I was ready to purchase the pre in a heartbeat, yet they decided to only release a CDMA version in my country - so I chose android and will not be able to give palm a chance now - still no gsm version

Palm's web os has very great potential and it has more to offer than what symbian^1 & symbian^3 does and its user interface even puts the iphone and android to shame it has a lot of innovative ideas. Its a shame to see palm struggle like this if only great mobile companies could've seen it and buy them,i doubt if hp have what it takes to take palm to the right direction. Only time will tell i only hope this great os doesn't die off to easily

I totally agree with you Ed, good points made. Another point palm took so long and invested so heavily on this flagship model they basically went bust and now are owned by HP. I wonder how things will go from there...

2 years ago, when the first buzz about this phone came out, the opportunity was there to make a real mark in the industry with this phone. Then Palm completely lost the initiative by taking ages to geet the phone launched in Europe, and by the time it came out, people like me, who would have bought one in a heartbeat a year earlier, had moved onto something else. They had momentum, they had the buzz; and yet completely missed the boat. Then, when they launched it in the UK, they completely screwed up by trying to imitate Apple and signing up to an 'exclusive' distribution deal with 02 who were at the time the only UK distributors for the Iphone - the company who's biggest revenue came from a directly competing product.
Duh, if you're launching a flagship product, do you give it to the company handling your competitors even bigger flagship product or do you give it to another company that wants a flagship product to head up its sales so it can compete.
Moreover, O2 are pricing it to compete directly with the Iphone which is ridiculous when you can go to other major suppliers and get, like I have, a Samsung Omnia HD for £12 per month with 200 minutes and 500 texts. Crazy. They're sadly just not going to get anywhere with this approach.
