Unfortunately this Association will not have the desired success. An Ubuntu operating system on the phone is not going to attract many customers.

Feels good to see a Linux distribution trying to make it into the commercial world. I wonder how much hardware hungry the software is. It would be awesome, if the developers make the operating system more optimised to this reported hardware.

All companies that produce smart phones, if you have noticed, this year come with similar equipment of their own phones, remaining as the only stylistic aspect, the aspect of phone casing, design phone differ little, but it is quite similar to all.
These compani will have a lot of success in sales, is not the case with the phone S7 from Samsung, which is at cross purposes with our times.
Not only to congratulate those who from Meizu.

Yea, let's go away from a robust but cluttered OS (android) to something that's even more cluttered and unsupportive.

Ubuntu is still an unfinished, unpolished OS but even at this state it offers way more than WP ever did.

Arif238, 17 Feb 2016What about apps support? I mean they support play store or... moreCanonical got a store of its own.
No Android apps are supported and the store is small, though it is worth mentioning almost all apps in the store are open source though there are some proprietary apps as well.

You will not find any of the most well known apps (though Telegram is there), however everything I need is there.

I own a Meizu mx4 btw, awesome hardware but the software is lacking in general. It is laggy (stutters a lot), slow and not that stable, but stable enough to be my main device.

A nice thing is that you don't need to root an Ubuntu phone, it has that covered through sudo out of the box, no hacking needed.

Besides sudo, the navigation is nice and the updates are scheduled with a cycle of 6 weeks with possible hotfixes in between while some apps get updates that are not tied to the major ota:s.
