wow, this nerd hates advertising but yet he's seen the advertising. Does this mean he agrees that Samsung has the best displays? I mean, his logic says that because Samsung advertises its devices so heavily that all the blog sites AND consumers believe their displays to be the best. Therefore it stands to reason that if he saw the ads that he too believes the Samsung displays are the best. I've seen Apple's many Iphone advertisements, Google's Nexus 6P ads, LG's V10 ads (which were excellent), and Samsung's. I believe that Samsung's displays are better than any of the other OEMs that advertise.

That is surely incorrect - Yes Samsung spends a lot for marketing, because being the biggest Phone maker is not an easy task (nor cheap marketing wise), but above all that Samsung spends more than the rest of mobile sector put together on R&D. There is nothing wrong with pentile "diamond" matrix. It was several times recognised as by far the best mobile screen ever. The layout of the screen matrix is really irrelevant when PPI is 577. What is important is colour, brightness, contrast etc. And Samsung has them all the best... not enough AMOELD screen is 60-70% more power efficient than LCD screens used by competitors. Just accept the fact - Samsung is the best.

The screen was not only the best (fact), but as well curved on both sides (most technologically advanced design). It was well before MWC 2016 when it was recognised as the best Smartphone screen ever. Over the 2015 Samsung S6 line comfortably sat on top of mobile cameras as well. While battery life was worse then S5 it was still comfortably above of major competitors (especially apple) and still gives decent battery life. That said - Yes there were few drawbacks e.g. no- msd slot, not water resistant, not replaceable battery. While it is obvious compared with S5 overall is not something unusual, neither Sony, nor HTC, nor Apple don't have replaceable battery and nobody complains?! Neither HTC, nor Apple, nor LG, nor anyone else except Sony have water proofing and nobody complains? The absence of msd slot is not an issue in 64GB and 128GB models and unlikely to be an issue in 32GB either. After a year using s6 I haven't even busted 32GB (on 64GB model). Above all that Samsung S6 line was the slimmest around (except few Chinese model not available outside of China). It is very fair that all this technological advancement (and advantage over competitors) was decently recognised. Surely, S6 edge was the best smartphone of the year (now it is fact).

i disagree with the notion that the galaxy s6 edge was a consumer based device it was awful, hence the poor sales compared to previous flagship handset. the s6 line was pure rubbish and the new s7 range is more realistic for android os users. i wonder who decides this coz clearly they have no idea of what most consumers realy want from a cellphone. its not about geeky concepts and gimmicks, its about consistent behavior that is guaranteed on a day-to-day basis until the user chooses to upgrade the cellphone in simpler terms. but the mentle of cellphone users need reliability from thier cellphone above everything.

As Samsung bought itself the large market share it enjoys in the smartphone market, by spending billions of US dollars for marketing and advertisement, it did so many times during all these years in which its products were winning titles, both from organizations such as Mobile World Congress and ''independent'' reviewers, since simply we are talking about billions of US dollars allocated for event funding and direct advertisement. It is business as usual for Samsung. Organising events such as the Mobile World Congress or running a website specifically for smartphones without any viewer subscription, can be either very expensive or time consuming or both. Someone has to pay the bill. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

it was not about the best looking watch, the rotating bezel in the gear s2 is one of the best things to happen to smart watches, give it a try and you'd know they didn't get this award for nothing.
