Google brings voice-based text editing and formatting to Docs

Google seems to have eliminated the need for keyboard as far as using its Docs productivity suite is concerned. After adding the Voice typing feature last year, the company has now rolled out an update that brings along voice-based text editing and formatting to Docs.

I tried this this morning whilst sitting in my car with the radio on quite quiet. I forgot the radio was on and started to talk, and it transcribed incredibly accurately without any errors. When I stopped talking, it continued using the voice on the radio, which was about a very sensitive subject that is headline news here in the UK today. I could not stop it! I didn't know how to stop the voice recognition and my screen filled with the transcript of the Jimmy Savile report news item. So creepy. I had to do a Select All and clear the page after turning the radio off. Kudos to Google for a remarkable bit of technology.

I've been desirous of this for a long time.
