Sony officially confirms that future Xperia Z phones won't happen

We finally have an official statement from Sony to clear up the confusion.

    sony on dead end

      the xperia X performance surely looks like the z series replacement
      but also then the xperia x looks like a xperia m series replacement
      and the xperia xa seems to be a xperia c series replacement
      if that turns out to be true in the future....
      where is the xperia x performance compact? (dang that is loooong)

        dont forget now samsung are using z series in there tizen phone like z1 z3 and even z4 tizen so its smart move to sony after they find out that samsung copying there design and name

          Alais, best of Sony for this year to come in new flagship in september, as their mobile portfolio in last couple of years suggests...
          call it Xperia X Authority or whatever you want

            Hmm. Now this just after I read it's not dead on Android Pit. What the hell is happening then?
            Personally it should be discontinued. And Xperia X should really be different. Not just the same story under a different name...

                  Well...I don't think many will miss the Z series.

                  The X Performance is not very far from a true flagship, but the 2700 mAh battery really kills the deal for me. They should have used at least a 3000 mAh and I would have considered it.
