Vocal adopter with lots of influence to what new users' buying preference perhaps, but they might not feel necessary to spend funds to fanboy who would follow them no matter what, after all, even if they ignore those fanboys, they will come and follow anyway.
In any case, being unofficial, I wonder how fast and consistent they would release the community update of the later versions. The moody nature made me worried if they would stop the community release development someday when the contributors are bored or "have more important things in real life".
But glad the new OS would also be used in netbooks. That way there might not be strict requirements like "capacitive touch screen" or "multi-touch touchscreen" that would eliminate the N900 soon.

htc hero, 28 May 2010sounds ok but still glad i sold my n900 and bought a htc he... morei really doubt you're using froyo. unless its the hacked rom of course, because the g1 and mt3g werent apart of the list since the processor is too "slow" and from what i believe, the dream, magic and hero all run the same processor. so yeah. but, froyo does seem to throw maemo off its loop a bit but better than maemo? i still doubt that, especially since the n900 is a portable computer first and a phone second.

sounds ok but still glad i sold my n900 and bought a htc hero now on android 2.2 froyo the internet isnt as good and i miss the keyboard but android is awesome and so fast and smooth. The apps are really usefull too not just spirit levels and fart noises like most iphone apps.
I am going to be using a world cup app in full colour that is just too good god knows hoe long it will take for the ovi store to offer such good stuff.

going to buy a Nokia N900 since it will have MeeGo. But one problem is that I dont know how to install things on the Nokia N900 or in Maemo/MeeGo. T_T

As an owner of N900 I'm very disappointed that Nokia will not release official MeeGo ROM for N900. They should support us, adopters, or they will lose us. Nokia definitely felt far behind in Mobile OS market. Symbian ^3 OS is not released yet and it's not even close to Android 2.2 Froyo. Even the quality of Nokia handsets is not the same as 4 years ago. My N900 was factory fixed once already and my wife is on her 3rd N97 mini. My work phone is Droid and my next personal will be Android based too. OK, maybe Nokia will change something by that time.

Good new OS but small community, it would be boring for me, i got myself n97mini sun we will get S3 on it if not official, than crackers will do the job instead!!

Hi! I`m about to install this on my N900, but am a bit unsure what to do? Extracting the file creates a PhotoShop file. Does anyone know how to install this on the N900?
