27 February, 2016
Interestingly, the court observed that it is in fact Apple which has infringed on one of Samsung's patents.

...the court overturns $120m patent...against Apple...if stevie is around he'll go mad and ballistic about it but the good side on this trend is we see the consumers have their own takes on this matter and representatives of Apple, lawyers, am sure they are so p***** off anyway there will be another day another patent that will come up and subject of infringement again

AnonD-364786, 01 Mar 2016i think you are totally confused between tsmc and samsung !!!Really?
I'm an electical engineer and work in the semiconductor industry, you tool.

TSMC IS well-known to be a company that overpromises but underdelivers in performance (10nm process in 2nd half of this year, right? LOL). The only reason why they're even capable of competing right now is because the Taiwanese government is funneling taxpayer money to TSMC so they can expand and have economies of scale.
TSMC has always competed with cost, not quality.

The SD 810 made on TSMC'S 20nm was vastly inferior to the exynos 5433 made in Samsung's 20nm process despite having the same core configuration.

Anonymous, 29 Feb 2016Just because you keep repeating yourself doesn't make it tr... moreThat is what Chinese factories were historically known for - quantities not qualities. There are many which does either quality or quantity, both in China and es where in the world, but only company in the world which can make both - and it is Samsung. Again Apple is historically known for its minimalist design and crappy outdated and cheap hardware. Every sane parson by now know, that to make iPhone Apple spends ~$120 and all the parts in them are particularly cheap and widespread. Real high-end parts goes in Android flagships (which until recently had cheap looks, but not any more). A single Samsung display costs more to make than whole iphone. Conclusion - craple is craple and it will always be, will always use old cheap parts and rely on poeple like Harmonica to make profits.

Alien, 28 Feb 2016Harmonica, are you sure you don't work for crapple? Cos you... moreI agree that harmonica is a sad kind of person.

He religiously defends a corporation whose only important contribution is making pretty rectangles.
Apple has 0 input in tech development and only buys tech that other companies have developed.

The only thing that apple develops are CPU cores using ARM IS, which is one of the easiest things to do in engineering. It's not hard like what Apple fans think. They use off-the-shelf sensors, displays, memory, etc.
              Apple is an off-the-shelf brand.

AnonD-364786, 28 Feb 2016oh ok.. that is why TSMC manufactured SoC which is 2nm bigg... moreJust because you keep repeating yourself doesn't make it true. Valid testing showed samsung process to be superior to tsmc's.

TSMC has a history of terrible fab processes which they make up with sheer volume. They screwed up with 20nm and 28nm and they screwed Apple with 16nm, where Samsung's process has higher yields, efficiency and power.

Why do you think qualcomm and amd switched to Samsung? TSMC is trash and you know it.

never a fan of Samsung due to some built-in reasons for their devices, HOWEVER, we can never deny that Samsung has always been part of the top manufacturers and developers of apps, softwares and hardwares, SO, this case of Apple is just pure crap (i am an Apple user and ASUS), we always know patents are signatures but it does not mean that Samsung or other developers can make it more different and better (or not)

That was just marketing trick so that people believe they keep your privacy. Every American technology company work with their government. They just want u to think that they don't work together. People shouldn't believe everything they read, hear, see. I learned it a long time ago. Today you can't believe your own eyes anymore.

I can understand comments posted here from consumers perspective. After all, they are the users - Apple and Samsung fanboys alike. Great to talk about how people think the cases benefit or affect us consumers.

However, the "armchair lawyers" are simply irritating. Drawing conclusions as if they had all the facts and legal experience. Instead, they're just adding confusion into the issue. Let the lawyers and the courts do what they do best... At least better than you.

                                        English please.
