Customer... moreYeah it seems competition is great this year, everyone is jumping in VR business and MS don't want to stay behind, quite opposite, they seem to have brewing some interesting features to add to VR experience, I also hope it will come true.

I will buy it if it is a little bit smaller and less bulky. Google glass got the formula right with the sizing and all but that one flop. AR really need to develop. VR with expanded reality will be the future.

I'm just waiting for the consumer release. I will buy it and take it to my job. I wonder if one can pair a wireless keyboard to this. It will replace my work computer at 80%
For what I know, you have the tradicional windows programs on this since it runs Windows 10 and not only that, you can move, resize and pin the programs to any part of your real desk or wall. Plus you can have virtual pets or assitance running and flying all around your place.
Just imagine, you are at home, put on hololens and you have your remainders in front of your frigde. You can watch the news while your cooking your breakfast. Then, you go to the living room and can play a full windows game with Directx 12 support or with the Xbox app you can stream your Xbox one games to this in a very large virtual screen.
Then you take them to work. And when you arrive to your office, since it has a built-in gps it can store locations and save "rooms" with all your shortcuts and even the stored tracking data and 3d scanned data of the places, if someone moved the furniture on the room it can do a quick re scan and correctly place and make the magical positioning and ocluding of the objets

This is the first device in its kind and thats something people dont understand. This headset has a lot of power. CPU, GPU, even a HPU (holographics procesor unit), this is for gaming, for work, for comunicate, travel etc. It is wireless and you dont have to connect it or plug it in any computer. this thing does not cover your eyes so your not isolated from your reality. This thing makes your stuff (in a personal usage) be in 3 dimensions, like if the desktop of your computer is all around your house or your room due to the motion tracking and space scaning capabilities that microsoft combine using kinnect tetchnology and stuff. So, yes, I think it worth it all the way to 3000 bucks. But I really expect it will release in less half the actual price for the dev edition. Please microsoft!! I must have this!!! >D

For this price tag it better be making breakfast... moreYeh it is steep, I agree, but dev versions usually are, also it's expected from MS to put such price, however this doesn't have to necessarily mean consumer version will cost a lot, even tho higher dev version cost compared to rivals does indicate so.
I think it may do cost a little more than existing VR rivals, or even lower around Glaxy VR price if they really wanna push it mainstream, like MS phones. Depends on they're ability to deliver refined product, so the less possibilities, less product is ready and finalized, the bigger price headsets will have.

Holy crap! For this price tag it better be making breakfast in the morning. As much as $1500 dev kit of Oculus was a bit steep, but within the reason, this is a bit too much. I understand it's a dev kit, but it makes me wonder if consumer version in this case won't be around $1500-2000 then. Well...we know after reveal of Xbone, that MS likes to shoot themselves in the foot, sooo...
