I think what HTC makes great is that they provide great user experience ( software) and the design along with steady and durable charm hardware, That being said...
Cost and differentiation competition is immense, People respond to new innovations...
A good camera and the rumored specs like the processor, display ram should make it a great choice, if not the greatest
If only they had met the customers expectations consistently....but they kind of dint and HTC's marketing was poor
But i might get the htc 10, htc has never failed me and my crap lg g2 and g3 had display issues, used the note 4/5 and the g6 and iphone 6s
Note 4/5 - are very good phones ( best phablets for no doubt !)but its a bit too big and the user interface isnt charming and i never get to use all its features.. so it doesnt make sense for me to have a note
s6 has the best display but its a bit slippery and not a fan of glass panels
Iphone 6s has its simplicity and unmatched convenience in using the phone with solid hardware and i did feel like there is an emotional attachment to the pone :). Even though i admire there software, i have the need of to downloading songs/videos and files from my mobile, i need to open the root folder and move files and use an SD card
HTC was ahead in terms of my requirements, But i hope to godthe camera is improved this time around !

Makes sense. With its flagship feauture of BoomSound speakers missing, it should not carry the flagship "One" or "M" monikers.

Nice, thinking that HTC and Motorola creating only durable devices. Thought this year and next I'll grab Xiaomi for it's value.

Great renders that were just released, i hope it goes back to M7 genes as far as design goes. I just dont get why the finger print button, finger p. technology wont last , Iris is the next thing really..? But overall, HTC still will have best design, even with these renders turning out to be real deal.

Linear and Diamond.. if Diamond Matrix is ON, there is a very big tendency of blue-indigo shade color which produces much color strain, making some pictures or things not real and oversaturated. Linear Matrix also have the same problem with Diamond, but Linear provide much better color reproduction.
the advantage of having IPS-LCD display is that it produces better color natural color, but since the pixels are still ON unlike amoled, it could run out the battery easily in a single charge.

HTC make quality phones as do Samsung and Apple I will not slate any of them. It comes down to preference. Apple hold the yuppie market but to be honest are behind in technology but have a solid build. HTC are more ahead with technology with a good solid build. Samsung are up there with technology but the build can be less solid and updates slow. It's your choice take your pick!
