Aiwear VR headset works without computer or phone attached

08 March, 2016
The headset has its own screen, chipset and sensors, unlike the Gear VR, which uses the phone for most of that.

XenoZodiac, 09 Mar 2016Nope, the data is too big to be streamed. I think they had already done it :? it would be like streaming a game to tv or something they have already done it! but just a few more inputs, well yeah, they should really do something about those wireless speeds! imagine if you could use your Home PC to power your phone laptop and every other device :) you could play games like fallout 4 on your chormebook :D

Anonymous, 08 Mar 2016GSM uses the term differently than you. GSM using imitation... moreThat may be. Look...I hope the budget VR headsets do well, because as a customers, it's our gain. Just too bad a lot of those cheap copies are being made without an effort, just to use a hype wave and get a quick cash.

This is a genuine original idea Aiwear came up with. This an Android VR headset. Smart idea. It just needs screen mirroring and you have a wireless screen on your face. Hopefully it has wifi.

This will actually be the concept to go for mobile VR in the future. But definitely NOT with a 5.5 inch 1080p LCD screen and cheap processors with a gig of ram and KitKat! This thing on VR will be the same terrible experience than if Apple made VR with their current iPhone 6s+. It will look blurry, jerky, nauseating and just terrible. The best mobile VR experience today is beyond a shadow of a doubt, the Samsung Gear VR headset paired with one of the Galaxy flagships.

Anonymous, 08 Mar 2016Sigh... I thought I've heard it all... What is an imitation... moreSame question you can ask to GSMA. What's an imitation of smartwatch? I think what we all meant was a copy cat companies. Those kind of companies, making a cheap copies of whatever the hype is for. I'm not saying it's a crime, but some close minded people will take only this products and pass the judgement about overall product experience, which then ends up being a "moo point".

West, 08 Mar 2016Really? The real one will make a difference in how puky VR ... moreHah! Butt hurts. Have you tried Oculus? Or Vive? I've tried both. And also tried the cheap one. Where do I even start pointing out the differences? Build quality? Image quality? Support? Additional accessories? The list goes on. If you want to play Candy Crush or Angry Birds on your headset, then cheap one is the way to go. It's just a 1st generation of VR and it shows a huge promise. For instance watching a 3D movie and being right inside of the action with 360 degree image all around you. Get your head out of your crack, boy.

Well...if this is the company, that mostly makes "imitations of smartwatches" as you've said, then perhaps this is an imitation of VR headset. I could check it out, but I bet using it for longer will mess up your eyes. Cheap knock offs won't do any good to the VR development. Some people will just try it, and say "Meh. I don't see what it this VR crap all about." Just try the real thing, before you make that statement.

If VR will ever be more than an ultra-thin niche product it can only become so via budget headsets that don't cost $600-800 or more. How those might be supported in games (proper PC games, not "VR angry birds") or how well they can eliminate lag remains to be seen - but Oculus-sized expensive monsters will never be mainstream.

This is what it turn to in the end. Budget VR headset. I hope this market don't get too serious with low quality VR because that is not the main point of getting a VR headset in the first place. You know what I mean.
