09 March, 2016
The sensor used in the Galaxy S7 was so far known to be Sony's IMX260, but apparently Samsung has its own imager in production with the same capabilities.

Anonymous, 09 Mar 2016It is worse in some areas and better than Sony's in other areas. Only in your tiny imagination it had any plus points over Sony's offering.

Hah and like their previous all hyped up isocell crap, this is going to follow suit and fail miserably as well.
But then again samsung users deserve it.

Dovice, 09 Mar 2016Are Samsung licensing Sony's patents? Assuming they need to.They don't need to. Sony didn't invent dual pixel. Sony's sensor didn't come with dual pixel. Samsung edited the sensor themselves to make the Sony sensor dual pixel.

[deleted post]hah. Based on physical sensor size (area). Which is 3-4 times bigger than the one on S7. What sensor size determines, google yourself.

                      Let's evolve always more !

Anonymous, 09 Mar 2016You mean that each had benefits? No, Samsung sensor in GS6 proved worse then Sony one. But all reviews are done using the Sony sensor which was only available at launch. Samsung cheated the customers. Same thing happened with Note 4.
