Goldgenie already has a 24-karat gold-plated Samsung Galaxy S7 on offer

09 March, 2016
Nothing speaks status more than a golden phone right? If you share this opinion then you have surely heard of Goldgenie - the company enjoying the plentiful financial support of millionaire James Caan. Now, as Samsung is preparing for the first wave of mass shipments of its latest flagship duo, Goldgenie has already gotten its hands on the devices and is offering them with a golden exterior.

All Goldgenie products are coming from China. Very low quality for a lot of money. Owner of the Goldgenie company is a well known criminal back in UK.
Multiple reports of fraud, money laundering and tax evasion already been lodged against Laban Roomes and Frank Fernando, his partner in crime. They alleged to have have successfully defrauded dozens of unsuspecting victims from all over the world of millions of dollars with a "franchise" scheme where they make it believe of awarding franchises of a business in fake gold plated products including Apple iphones. The Apple iphone casings are actually produced in China by a company in Shenzhen - all arranged by cunning and courtesy of Frank Fernando.

Well at least it is still useful considering Gold Prices are coming up. To think about it, it is still cheaper than the previous S6 Avengers edition.

Jewelry and technology that becomes disposable and obsolete do not go well together.

AnonD-152638, 09 Mar 2016Because today, the best phones you can buy are the high-end... moreWatches, cars, jewelry, comic books etc these things are novel yet timeless. A smartphone... is not.

People buy expensive liquor, cigars, etc for special "experience". This phone isn't any different from the other versions.

Trust me, you don't need to lecture me on luxury. These things are beyond irrational purchases. Phones are 2 years "perishables" for lack of better words.

AnonD-5197, 09 Mar 2016Even if you're rich enough to buy 2 million of these.... Why?Because today, the best phones you can buy are the high-end offerings from consumer-oriented companies. Vertu and other luxury brands, can not compete in terms of performance and functionality. Build quality and add on serives, sure, but in usage they are far behind.
So if you want a luxury phone, your best option is to buy a high end offering from Samsung or Apple, as those can be modified in this way, to look luxurious.

If you don't understand the concept of luxury, then it will be hard to explain.
It's not all about beeing able to show if off, it's also about having something that few or no others have.
Some people for example enjoy having special limited edition cars, even when you can't really tell by the outside. Or to have things in your home that no one really sees.
But most of the time, it also factors in that people can see that it's special. It's easier to feel pleased with paying extra for something special, that people can tell is different, than paying extra for something that you wont see on the outside. That does not always mean that is have to be golden and blingy, but that is the easiest way to make sure that people can tell it's more exclusive. Especially when it comes to these consumer-oriented phones, that so many others will have, and that so many others will buy different cases for to make them look special.

I know the answer to the question "Why?" is "Because they can, and someone will probably buy it", but mother of god, it's ugly and tasteless!!!

In a few years, maybe, gold/silver skins starts selling online, made with real metals..

This sparkly design is ugly af. Of course women will like it, but to me it's, again, ugly AF. I don't see any point in buying this and paying this ammount of money for nothing and it's even more expensive than gold-plated galaxy s7 made by samsung themselves which looks much better.
