This news is from 7 June 2010 and 23 Nov 2010 Motorola announced that there will be no more support for the phone
https://supportforums.motorola.com/community/manager/softwareupgrades
WOW
just 6 months of support is not something I would expect from Motorola.
Damn me I bought the phone 2 weeks ago with the hope of a soon update.
4 years of love with my Nokia N95 and now I discovered I divorced for a worst phone - that's not fair.

100 Moto, 09 Jun 2010People just have different preferences, but you don't seem ... moreYou my friend did not understand i single thing i said. Firstly you said i dont respect other people's opinions. If you reread all my messages i REPEATEDLY said this phone and the droid are crazy insane phones. I only mentioned the n900 as an example of excellent workmenship and design. You were the one that made sarcastic disrespectful remarks about doing stuff on a 3.5 inch screen--which was clearly judging me. Once again you judged me by assuming im from us. Im from canada, ontario (WHICH has NOTHING to do with anything).
So once again, im gonna tell you dont be a punk and make sarcastic remarks as other people on the forum also mentioned different people have different uses for phones. The only time i now use my laptop is when i have to sit down and do work, all the minor stuff i can do within seconds on my n900.
as far as the iphone is concerned im not talking about specifics (i.e. processor speed).. im talking about how nokia and motorola make statements about saying "we wont release this phone until it is exactly wat the customers want".... iphone never does that. I phone has so many fans they could take away technology on it and it would beat the sales of everyother phone on this planet. Im talking about how other companies are putting in the effort to put EVERY possible thing they can and still maintain a reasonable price.
..regardless, dont take offense.. there's no need for us to get furious over a few statements and i appologize if i offended you. There's tonnes of great phones out there, and this is certainly one of them.

jazz, 08 Jun 2010are you crack? if people didn't care about hard specs why o... moreWhen I said hard specs, I meant the "numbers"....
If you ask most iphone users what is the clockspeed or CPU inside, I'd bet 70% of them probably don't know....and they DON'T CARE!
All they care is there is a phone out there that can smoothly browse thru the internet, the last thing they care is exactly what/how it could be done.
And may I bet you're from US? I think even 2 years ago when I went there, the commericals on radio only mentioned "camera phones" without any emphasis on the exact pixels, as the average customers didn't seem to care.
Same thing for cars. Do cares with 140 vs. 150 vs. 160hp really make the difference? Or does that rest of the car...overall design, wagon, sedan, sports, weight, that makes the difference? Or how about different engines being used in different trims, when you go for a test-drive, the salespeerson would usually tell you to floor it all the way. But in real world driving situation, how often do you do that?
So don't ask me what's inside my Milestone, because I don't know and I don't care. All I know is the phone offers smooth operation and can brwose thru the internet just like my desktop.

Jazz, 08 Jun 2010And dont judge me based on your lifestyle...(ever think tha... morePeople just have different preferences, but you don't seem to respect others.
When the almighty brand first released its 6xxx which supported viewing of PPT, I was conducting a business training and found one of the attendees was using that phone, then I asked the person if he ever viewed any PPT in his phone, he said "NO".
Maybe different people around the world have different usage. Where I live, for most business people, they would use Blackberries for email and other stuff. Then for those who use iphones, Milestones, etc...they mostly use the phones for "entertainment", and yes, many do carry 2 phones around them nowadays, and most choose to separate business and personal lives, as much as possible.
Others would choose netbooks/lap tops, and I can't imagine how I would present something to a client on a 3.7" mon PPT, vs. even some of the smallest laptops around.
FYI, I do have a Motorola Milestone, and other than browsing the internet, I mostly use it for games only. NEVER and NEVER business stuff...don't want to bring work outside of my office.

jazz, 07 Jun 2010buddy nice try,
just cause its not on some list doens't m... moreWell the N900 can't run Crysis and it can't fit into my pocket. So for all the power it has it is not powerful enough, and for it being a phone it is not portable enough. For my tastes.
The specs of the XT720 on this website is 10.9mm thick.
The N8 is 12.9mm thick.
And to think 100 moto was told to get informed.
But I am convinced people will never get tired comparing what they believe is the best phone on the market to any other nice phone that comes out. I do not see nokia worshippers comparing an N8 to an N900, so why compare an XT720 to an N900?
Let us divide the quality of the phone by the unlocked price and see which one wins.

I think you're on the wrong page homeboy, this is for people who want to be able to do wat computers can do on the go
As far as you're concerned, i'd recommend gettin a really capable smartphone (i.e. moto droid or nokia n900) and truely testing out how comfortable it is to perform day to day compter tasks in about the same amount of time it would take "100 Moto" to close his adult site, pull up his pants and shut down his computer.

100 Moto, 08 Jun 2010The success of iphone (and don't tell me the almighty brand... moreare you crack? if people didn't care about hard specs why on earth would people buy $500+ phones? the more you have in it, the more you'll use. Apple puts a camera on thier phone that was used as camera back in 1998...why bother putting a camera on the phone? they should have left it out or put it like the customers would want it (i,e. to current technology). So dont give me some crap about customers dont care about hard specs. obviously you're just one of those douche's who sits about trying to figure out wat crazy phone to get just so you can fit in (you're not 14 yr old blonde from beverley hills are you?)
and dont tell me about "not bothering" with viewing files on a 3.5 inch screen. my point about that was that they phone is literally like a computer in ur pocket. If you're gonna have a phone with crazy features, u might as well be able to use in EVERYWAY possible.
why are you on this forum anyways? you dont care about hard specs...
WAKE UP BIG BOY, ITS THE 21st CENTURY... computers are now coming to cell phones.

But it is good option to have some mobility in handheld devices for quick care. Or maybe for people like me who don't like carrying Laptops around. So in short, it is good to have such options. :)

Both ROM and RAM memories are 512 mb. The processor is a 720 Mhz TI OMAP3440, and not a 600 Mhz Cortex. To make sure, browse www.developer.motorola.com
