10 March, 2016
LG is going to be emulating a promo that it's run a lot of times for past devices such as the G4 and V10.

The camera module also has an embedded 1200mha battery. So if users leave the camera module on all the time. Then the LG G5 will have a total of 4000 mha capacity.

AnonD-278667, 11 Mar 2016I dont think the s7 has the better cammer.screen is matter ... moreThe camera's are pretty evenly matched, with the G5 doing better in well lit areas and the S7 being better for lowlight. The screen is better on the S7, personal preference doesn't affect that. S7 will definitely have a longer lasting battery.

This coming from someone who likes the G5. If you're gonna be a fanboy at least get the facts straight

LG, I would love to have a real cameramodule... Large sensor, optical zoom, fast lens... And I will upgrade from my LG G4...

The cameramodule you made now has digital zoom and uses LG G4 camera... (Good but not worth the upgrade)

Switching batteries only takes under 90 seconds, than "under 90 minutes". So likes waiting for the phone to charge?

I feel the power methods are going backwards with the waiting time. Charging on the charging cradle happens while I sleep.

AnonD-442781, 11 Mar 2016I don't know why you keep saying you consume 6gb daily. You... moreI understand where you are coming from, I am also in the same boat like you - i.e. never used the replaceable battery to swap batteries every day. But thinking more and more about it - I am with LG on this. Replaceable batteries is the right way to go.

We have adjusted our life styles to suit the phone's battery charging time, i.e. plug it in charger early in the morning as soon as you wake up, and wait for it to fully charge before doing any activity (facebook, whatsapp and what not) with mobile. OR keep it in charger whole night and start using it in the morning. Also take it out from charger for urgent calls, put it back again. In these cases, life span of battery is reduced. Also reduce the usage in the late evening if it is less than 20% or carry a powerbank (I carry one for my phone) to recharge for 20-30 minutes.

Just think about a life where you don't have to wait for your phone to be charged fully at any time of the day (early morning or late evening). Just use your phone at whatever time you want without worrying about when battery would die, and not having to wait for it to fully charge, not needing to carry your mobile along with powerbank while charging during the day (which looks really really awkward, I still do that because I don't have a choice). Having excellent battery life in the phone will eliminate half the problems (reduced usage sometimes due to low battery, powerbank etc), but it still does not provide the best convenient life style.

Once you get used to swapping the batteries whenever required, you can't imagine going back to replaceable batteries. And that would give a much better convenient life style than a restricted one with respect to charging the phone, reduced usage, awkwardly charging using powerbank etc etc.

AnonD-442781, 11 Mar 2016I don't know why you keep saying you consume 6gb daily. You... moreWhy would you want to be tied to something you know you have to go to a service center just to fix the battery eventually? All my former devices were handed down to family members who aren't that techy. Bought them brand new batteries to become more power effective as if brand new.

You don't even need to change batteries daily, if you're not a heavy user. You can visually inspect the battery for buldging every 6 months. Cycle your battery every 1 months to assure your getting the best possible power hold effectively. For even extreme battery conservation, you need to put the charge between 20% to 80% so you can have your battery last four years - more effective with extended batteries. I'm not making this stuff up.

I only had light use today, on stock battery with my Note 3, on LTE, Bluetooth on two devices, and only used some 350mb for browsing, music, 1 TV episode, YouTube, and a bit of eBook reading. Full charge gave almost 15 hours, with 7 hours Screen On Time.

                            http://www.flickr.com/photos/92800985@N06/shares/Ft9t62

Yes, it can last over 24 hours if I can limit usage by half of how I used it today. Who wants to do THAT? And I normally use my Note as the hotspot for my laptop. 6-8 GB is just normally my heaviest. Usual is 4 GB, most rare is 12 GB at one time.

Point is, I'm sure to have enough power for all my power needs than bringing charger/powerbank/charging pad/extra phone.

And I'm pretty sure I've got effective batteries, than that aged sealed battery.

You should understand that's 100-200 times more than average, making you an anomaly. While removable battery may be good for you, for most people in the world it doesn't have anywhere near the same value. I've had many phones with removable battery and have never made use of the feature.

Gibby, 11 Mar 2016I still have my 3.5 year old Note 2 with the same battery -... moreI had the Note II for 9 months, cycling 3 batteries because I can consume up to 6 GB data DAILY. A family member inherited it, and over a year later - those batteries started crapping out. 2 of the batteries bulged.

                                      http://flic.kr/p/z3cbou

My Note 3's first set of 3 batteries only were giving me battery efficiency of 60% by the 18th month. Simple solution was to buy original replacements - 100% capacity regained. No waiting time to go to a service center.

The thing is, I increase the battery cycles a lot more than you. Hence, the 3 years of supposed relative battery as before. Do you still get some 4 or 5 hours of Screen On Time usage on a single charge? I don't think so. That "100%" can fool anyone.

I can get even up to 8 hours of SOT, over a span of 12 hours. That's when I get 15% left, and need to swap batteries. 80 seconds to change, and to fully boot. Under 90 seconds, instead of "under 90 MINUTES".
