These guys don't understand their customers at all... They need 5 years to figure out that design counts... While everybody telling them.

I hope it doesn't have 9.9 mm thickness. A phone should not have thickness more than 8mm.
Also a mini phone should be substantially cheaper, no point having a mini phone which is only $100 dollar or so less than the flagship.

Samsung already has the A-series, the E-series, the J-series etc.
so why would Samsung need another phone to compete with 4" iphone?

Are you Coolpad?720p is a good for 4.6 inch phone. just look at s3 with 4.7 inch screen.. it has the same 720p disply. with new screen tecnology this screen will be much better than s3. SD 820 and 3GB ram for the preformance not for the screen res. so im so happy with the specs. only this i worry about this phone is updates... every single mini phone by sammy has terrible recode on updates... example s4mini and s5mini... please fix this sammy.. give updates on time.. no point of giving an update which is old more than a year. please

If it's technically not possible to fit everything in a smaller body. Look at Sony Z5 compact, they had to make the body thicker to fit more batterie and storage compared to Z3 compact.
And only Sony tries to make premium compact phone.
There is another candidate you can compare. The Sharp aquos shv31 compact. It has slightly smaller bezel, same thickness but lighter than Z5 compact. 4,7 inch, 1080 full hd Igzo display, ip68, snapdragon 808, 2810mAh, 3gb ram, but only 16gb storage. And only Japan....
Japan brings a lot compact phones for Japan only, so they are specialized. So you can imagine what is possible or not.
If the Samsung is anything like the Sharp with 32gb storage, I would get it.

Bob, 15 Mar 2016I currently have the S5 mini, it is an amazing phone, never... moregalaxy s5 mini is the worst phone every made on entire galaxy. it had only the flagship name, not the specs which made s5 so good.i hope that will not be the same case for s7 mini. and please sammy support your phones up to 2 to 3 years on time.if my galaxy s7 edge didnt get android n on time my next phone will be iPhone 7 Pro. sorry sammy

The only viable compact phone is coming from sony, and they refuse to put amoled screens. As for the size, it is perfect. 4.6" should be the standard from compact phones. Don't complain about that. iPhones 4" screen is just too small. Although 4.6" is close to iPhones 4.7", u forget that the screen to body ratio is way more than the iPhones. the iPhone 6 is only a tad bit smaller to the s7. so shrinking .5" off the s7 would make the s7 mini a lot smaller than the iPhone 6 but not as small as the tiny iPhone 5s
