Windle, 21 Mar 2016Normal tablets do not even remotely come close to the excel... morethe only issue I have with these e-readers, pretty much any of them with an e-ink screen is the terrible slowness. Specially since most of my materials are PDFs, and I have to jump trough pages a lot, the slow response kills the joy for me. Usually it's not even only on the screen the problem but the processor itself can't keep the pace for page switching or any image heavy PDF.
Would they have the same processing power as the current tablets and react faster I could consider one, but for my needs, not only is one of those more expensive, but it's too slow
(not to mention I use a Japanese dictionary on it all the time so there's the multitasking too, and when that's dealt with I like to watch some videos).

To each their own use scenario, frankly if these were faster I could consider one.

Wish they make a 8 inch 4:3 reader . I think 6 inch is way too small ..

Windle, 21 Mar 2016Normal tablets do not even remotely come close to the excel... moreWhether they're better than an actual book is a debate for another time, but I agree on e-ink being better than LCD for reading experience, the lack of backlight and slightly more defined edges between light and dark are much easier on the eyes I find.

Now if only a cheap, colour e-ink screen the size of a kindle (or larger) was a common thing, I'd be all over that in seconds

Kindles use digital ink they are even better than reading from a hardcopy of the original book. You should try one.

No need of wasting money on these readers when you can purchase an 8 inched tablet and enjoy both kindle services as well as loads of many uses and benefits.

Sounds fishy. I'm not buying it.
