Taken off shelves last year, LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE is now back on sale

21 March, 2016
If you recall, LG halted sales of its Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE in November last year, something which happened just a week after the smartwatch was launched. At that time, the company explained the device has a a faulty component which can potentially bring down the wearable's image quality over time.

Akinaro, 22 Mar 2016Funny because you doing that right now... You assuming that... moreYou say that this is a useless device (general statement) and I say that it is useful for my needs (specific statement), which you try to contradict with another "great" statement, that majority of the users doesn't need that, so I shouldn't buy it. Are you funny in your head or what? ;)

at, 21 Mar 2016You don't get the idea about situations when you don't want... moreFunny because you doing that right now... You assuming that if YOU have problems with it, everyone else have.
Because lots of people use phone when they running and none of them have such problems, and when you want listen to music in gym and dont want to carry phone... you use bluetooth headphones.... simple and no one complain.
And no one need to worry about yet another device that need to be charged.

For now all you doing is trying really hard to find way to keep your opinion on something that in the first place have no point for existing in the form as we have now.

There where times before where there was boom for smart watches(yes it not new invention) just like there was boom for 3D movies, really flat phones, small phones, new camera features... and all that was kicked to ground by reality, because as far as its look fancy in real life you dont use half of this features.
You can say that you use it, but in real life most of people dont care and dont know what cpu they have on phones, no one care about res of screen, as far as its look good and crisp, no one care about half of stuff we talk abut here.
Go to any street in big city and ask people about their phones. I can ensure you that half of them dont know anything specific, and actually dont use most of features they provide, and another half know basic but still dont use most of features, and IF, only to show off in front of friends.
So just because YOU like and use something it doesnt mean that other doing this, Just because you are interested in this topic. Its a matter of moving your bvtt and checking typical user behavior, because typical user dont spend whole day on tech sites and dont care about technical aspect of device.

If I recall, the first iteration of the Urbane 2nd Edition LTE was NumberSync compatible. I'm hoping this feature has not disappeared with this re-release.

LTE is for independent use. GPS, text, IM, calls etc.

I find carrying phone in the pocket or strapped to the arm really uncomfortable when I do sports, so I'm looking to buy this watch or the Galaxy watch S2 with 3G connectivity. No smart band in the market can offer such functionality. Please don't judge all the World by your own criteria.

And maybe you enlight me how you gonna use this LTE on device that barelly have power to keep it on for more than one day? And what you gonna do with this lte? Browse YouTube on 1,5inch rounded screen where landscape video would have about 0,8inch size?
Or you gonna buy new sim card just to call someone once per year to show off in front of friends?

With smart bands you have to take it with you. This watch and Samsung new watch with lte works independently. Ok noob? Now laugh about that.

karim salah, 21 Mar 2016Give me a good smartband model/nameSamsung Gear Fit(I have it, week on battery and with custom app it support almost all app notifications)
                    Huawei band.
                    Sony Smarband Talk
                    Huawei Talkband
                    LG lifeband Touch
                    Microsoft Band
iWown i5Plus(I had that before Gear fit, work like charm)

And bunch of less known models like flyspace t2, Fullhope H8, Lemfo A8. etc etc.

Most of them cost from 50 to 180 Euro and beside WAY better battery life, they have all what smart device need.
And I can ensure you that for most of day, 90% people dont need all features that other smartwatch have, because they just look fancy and are good to show off in front of friends. All you need are notifications, time, trackers and good battery life.

Give me a good smartband model/name

Anonymous, 21 Mar 2016Gorgeous watch...and I can leave my phone behind when I run... more""I can leave my phone behind when I run/cycle and still receive calls texts and notifications from all my important apps.""

Notifications and sms are basic function that any smartband for 50Euro can make... and calls? really?

                        ""I can track my runs""
This is main reason for smartbands... heII! you actually dont need any other device than your phone to do that!

                        ""surf the internet""
hahahahahhahahahhahahahah!!! SURF INTERNET! hahahahahahhaha.... on 1.5ich screen! xD

""get the latest weather, football scores...""
Those are notifications... check first point.

""My phone can be at home! I never pick up my phone for texts, I answer using my current Android Wear watch.""

Send me your phone if you dont use it, I can sell it and buy some toys for my dog.

Gorgeous watch...and I can leave my phone behind when I run/cycle and still receive calls, texts and notifications from all my important apps. I can track my runs, surf the internet, get the latest weather, football scores...all on my wrist, my phone can be at home! I never pick up my phone for texts, I answer using my current Android Wear watch. And the 570mAh battery on this watch can last 2 days!!
You may not want or need a Smartwatch Akinaro, but I would like to buy this watch. I'm very glad its back. The sooner it arrives in the uk the better.

I still dont get why people are willing to pay 350Euro for most useless device that we have now in market, just after home Bluetooth speakers(if its for home, you just buy speakers that sound better and you dont need to charge them once per few days...)

I understand smartband, that show basic notification and have all handy sensors for sport, you charge them once per 7-10 days and all data are stored on phone.
But smartwatch is nothing more than phone with lowered usability and bad, bad battery that try to much to be something that its not.

Whole idea of putting full blown android(because android wear is nothing more than modified android) and all that useless power is ldlotic, why the heII watch would need 1GB of ram and quad core CPU??? why?
All functions of smartwatch could be run on any old java phone platform or any other system that run smooth on old ARM 500Mhz cpu and dont drain battery after 3 days.

There is no real reason to buy it beside spending money for useless toy, that can be replaced by any smartband for 50Euro.
