Seems to be decent. I mean, I respect Apple for releasing a new phone that entertains the needs of those who only want a sub-5-inch display, but it's not for me. Performance and camera performance should be solid for the price, as it is Apple's 'latest' SoC and camera technology, and build quality will be, like always, exemplary (if extremely fragile), but none of this is new for Apple. In fact, the only 'new' thing about this phone is the price, which is great for Apple but still not, in my personal opinion, worth it. My current phone is superior in most aspects except flat out performance (but you'd hardly be able to tell the difference in anything except demanding games) yet costs less. It's just my preference, and it's my right to choose the phone that's right for me, but this is yet another phone from Apple that I'm not even remotely interested in. If it started at $100 less, than yeah it'd be a pretty solid deal for what it is, but I think there are still better choices for the price. I, quite simply, prefer a large, sharper screen and a different operating system. Android or Windows works fabulously for me, iOS bores me.

A resolution of 1336*640 is just isn't acceptable in 2016. Good device otherwise, but won't even consider it because of it's display resolution.

It's no slouch but it's hardly a game changer. People will buy this because either: they want a smaller phone; or they want an Apple phone.

Especially since it still starts at 16GB of storage which is rubbish. I don't really have anything against Apple, they're a good business, but they overcharge for their products and that's just that. Samsung is the same way, they overcharge. The only difference is Samsung is less stubborn than Apple, and their prices fall faster. My phone does everything this phone can do (except for the fingerprint biometric authentication) plus it has OIS, a physical camera shutter, an always-on display, microSD card support, a removable batter, double-tap-to-wake, and it costs less. The choice of operating systems is, and always will be, a dividing point (I don't like iOS, I find it boring), but when you talk about just hardware the iPhones are solidly built, well-designed, and efficient phones—but they have never, ever, been good value for money. Whether or not they're WORTH it is an entirely different question, as millions of people clearly think it's worth it. But Apple devices are not good value, simple as that, and there's nothing inherently wrong with it.

now other oem's will start 4inch devices with high end specs. if 5se gpu performance is nearly equal to 6s then it might defeat galaxy s7 anfd g5. apple has a smart strategy, really people will go for 5se rather than g5 or s7 now.
