i have not tried it yet but is this VR all its cracked up to be? or is it just the latest tech to have that will phase out pretty fast, much like 3D, not slating it because i haven't tried, just curious what it is and is it worth the hype?

Sony won this current gen console war, they made the right choices and took a huge risk (VR) despite it's struggles, unlike Micro$oft.

Once upon a time, there was a console battle, but, Sony released the PS VR and it ends...

Simon, 22 Mar 2016Well, for that price it's so much better value to just go f... moreNot really.

To qualify, I use a Sony HMZ-t3w, I use some razor nunchuck (like wii controllers), and a Logitech G27 (and Xbox 360 controllers/razed keyboard and mouse as needed).. My ninja PC is a water cooled i7 with top end video card. I game at high refresh rates, or in 3D and enjoy what VR will offer.
I used to play VR games in the arcades back in the mid nineties (playing against my mum, on an occasion, had her calling me 'a little shit'-in public- whilst I ran around circles around her and did many 'surprise kills); I am not new to this type of tech, and have owned most gaming consoles and home computers since the woodgrain Atari 2600 first released...

The PlayStation VR will be THE VR everyone is talking about (if any ARE being talked about).
Sure oculus will do well, in limited numbers, to certain communities..
But mobile headset wearing won't be as fun, and having dramatically reduced render power from mobile devices (phone implemented versions) won't cut it either.

VR needs grunt. (High refresh rate, and x2 offset images) PC hardware could hit it out of the park, but as PC sales are a tiny percentage of the market; let's look at what the PlayStation offers:

Move wands. Users familiar with how to set them up and make them work (one less barrier)
Consistent platform installed in the largest entertainment zone in users abode.
Retain sales chain geared up to sell hardware/software and offer advice
Long list of big budget and accomplished commercial developers ready to make software
Sony pictures and other Sony resources...

        Hmmm

So, sure, my PC has bragging rights, but when PlayStation VR hits, who is going to care about PC gaming (at least until the dust settles and we realise we may, or may not, have fun VR titles to play)

Having played move wand implemented 3D kill zone on PS3, and move wand controlled bio shock, their aiming experience and 'using a gun' was preferable to other control methods.
I wouldn't say 'more accurate', and probably not for professional competitive gamers,.. But certainly fun.
You know; the reason we game, 'fun'

        Roll on October

Well, for that price it's so much better value to just go for the proper Oculus Rift.

This VR is going viral at this price.
Winner already, no question about it.
                  Smart Sony

if FPS shooters like Battlefield and COD include support for VR & Move controller as a gun, it's gonna be a severe blow to XB1

If they release a gun to play in VR that would be awesome for call of duty games and I wish if it was also released for Xbox one as well
