YouTube for iOS gets Slide Over and Split View support on iPad

Google has released an update to the iOS version of the YouTube app. The update finally brings some much needed functionality on the iPad.

"Another small change is that the home tabs have been moved into the navigation bar on the iPad in landscape mode."
They do seem to fiddle the UI a lot with the iOS app, almost every major update something is moved around. Is this common with the Android and Windows versions too?

It would be great to have PIP mode but for now split view is enough for me.
