They are designs bought from ARM and modified to improve perfomance. Qualcomm started these with Krait CPU Cores. This is Samsung's first try with the M1(Mongoose) cores and for a first try, they are doing pretty well. Also, Qualcomm does not manufacture its own GPUs. They own Adreno which makes GPUs. The Exynos 8890 has a Mali-T880MP12 GPU which does a good job of holding its own against Adreno 530. Frankly speaking, you wouldn't notice the difference in real life.

dazed1, 27 Mar 2016best joke ever. It's not a joke. The Exynos has better multi-core performance but the Snapdragon has better single-core and GPU performance. Either way you're likely not to notice it.

Interesting line up. It's good to see some smaller phones there. But I doubt every one is a winner.

HutHutHut, 24 Mar 2016Dream on... Exynos 8890 is every bit the equal of Snapdrago... moreIt's certainly not Samsung's first in-house chipset. They've been making Exynos processors for years now. And the Exynos 8890, although a very impressive SoC, isn't quite the equal of the Snapdragon 820 in every way. They're both arguably overpowered already, but the Snapdragon 820 pulls ahead slightly in CPU performance and pulls ahead even more in GPU performance. Not to mention LTE performance which I'm reasonably certain is also better in the Snapdragon 820. I highly doubt anyone could actually notice a difference unless they were looking for a difference but the difference is there.

The Exynos GPU isn't built in-house like the CPU is, and isn't as powerful as the Adreno in the Snapdragon 820. Same thing last year. The Exynos 7420 had great CPU performance but wasn't quite as powerful as the 810 on the GPU front.

Those MINI's look awesome!
If the dimensions are small, bezels slim and price reasonable - then Meizu have some MIINI winners!

Keep in mind this is Samsung's first in-house chip set... and already a class leader... Next generation we must see who wins... especially after Samsung make the switch to 8 nm...

Still does not want to go to "fight" in the arena market of smart phones, this company Meizu. They know best what is the best solution for them. Covers a wide range of requirements, from the buyers of mobile phones. Manufactures phones for all "pockets".But, can not understand, why use that processor (second-hand) Exynos, instead of SNAPDRAGON 820 , KING of all processor.
