We have to remember that SE is a relatively a new player, ofcourse they lower the price, and playing very aggresive in the market to take some market share, it's just marketing 101. Whether they can survive or not needs to be seen in 5-6 years time when their products like w800, p990 etc proven itself in their class. Don't praise them too much, since they still have alot to proof, cause to be succesful in a saturated market you need alot more than a good product.

...the only thing that the company wants most and deserves too is a huge market share, but consumers for some inexplicable and confusing reason prefer a stupid Finnish five-letter company that churns out some of the worst phones in history of mobility! Tough luck, guys! :)

The speed with which Sony Ericsson is launching new models and at the ridiculously low prices, they sure seem to be on the course of world dominion! It appears now that there is a Sony Ericsson phone for every type of consumer - they have phones for music, imaging, business, entertainment and a few simple models for making calls also. There are expensive and non-expensive phones also. However, ...

oh, and the k790 has already been annouced for NA.
triband NA (850,900,1900)
i think it's a safe assumption that the k800 will either be modified for the US as well (in due time), or another variant will debut with 850 (similiar to the k750-w810)

i dont see why so many individuals insist on bashing cellular cameras, in comparison to a standalone digi-cam.
integration comes hand in hand with compromise.
if the market demanded an up to par integrated digi-cam in cellphones, than they would exist, however that market is too small.
for all those who claim they want that, i can bet 90% of you would not be willing to pay the additional premium that would be tacked on top.
not only would you have a phone that is 1.5 times as large, limited vibration functions (if at all), and the dramatic reduction in battery life, but many MANY people would be cut off by the price.
SE is making phenomenal products and has undoubtedly had the greatest effect on pushing the market forward in terms of imaging in cellphones.

Looks pretty good.
The best feature of this phone is the xenon flash. First phone to use it ( the same used in digital cameras) and the eye reduction seen in other SE phone.
The price would be around 500-550 GBP for now.
Release date: Q3,2006
Enjoy.

Will K800 or K790 have the same sound quality of W800 or W810 ?
Will K800 or K790 come with the same Ear Plugs like W800 or W810 or will they come with a normal headphone like K700 ?

I just hope they've finally fixed their SMS SLOWNESS! It started with my T68i years ago and it's still a problem with my W800i!!!

I'm just totally baffled, Sony Ericsson again and again decide not to give their flagship phone quad-band and had to create separate North America version which lack the 900 band. Finally I thought the K800/790 would be the one, with great features and a great screen, again I'll be forced to skip and wait some more for the one with the quad (or go with the W810 if I decide to cope with the weaker screen). SE if you're listening, please give your flagship phones quad, you'll make me very happy and I'll be the first to ditch my Motorola.

Just curious, when will they actually integrate 16.8 million true color screen like those TV/LCD screens we use daily. I see more features packed in but the screen colors still remains at 262k TFT. Not sure if the imaging section is affected by the same color limitation on the phone LCD but if it is, it doesn't matter how high the MP count goes, the picutres still won't look as good as those on a digital camera.

They joystick is not the same as on the k750. It has been improved to better cope with dust (wich caused the k750 joystick to malfunction). So hopefully it will work this time.

Finely with the with the K790 I get a phone I can use on the Cingular network, thank you SE. I was afraid I would have to go with the N80, but I don't want a phone with only 3 hour talk time. As long as SE doesn't screw this up by only having 3 hour talk time on the K790 (which I seriously doubt they would), this phone will be mine.
Of course I was hoping this one had the WIFI, but at least this way it gives it a chance that Cingular will pick it up, which gives me a better chance of getting it at a discount.

It's just too bad that they have the crappy joystick that the k750 had. I guess I'm still getting the w810i next month and not wait for this one, although the camera seems tempting.

well....i guess these 2 fones r gonna rock the market and with a 3.2mp cam it just cant get better....but i think it would be way too costly for many of us to afford it
