GoPro drops Windows Phone support

29 March, 2016
Back in December last year, action camera maker GoPro promised to update their Windows Phone app with support for Windows 10 Mobile. However, it has now come to light that the company has dropped the support for Microsoft's mobile platform.

It makes a lot of sense. Companies will back down on WP, because they see MS is not putting their development into the right way. They say, they constantly work on improving user experience, but I've been using it for quite awhile on my second phone, and it seems abandoned. Their app market is a barren wasteland, a sad leftovers from initial hype. I think MS should stick to the PCs and Xbox, WP was a bad choice. They are stretching themselves thin, trying to work on everything, making it just okay. Focus on 1 or 2 things, but make it good (if you can't do it great). To me MS as a company is on the edge of falling apart. It won't be gone, but soon they may start the long fall. I wonder if Bill Gates actually cares about it, or he's just like "I got my money out of it. Not my problem anymore."

      Easy! I won't buy a GoPro then.

Microsoft should scrap windows 10 altogether and start thinking out of the box to bring out a new version of Windows.

They should use the insider program from the very start then, rather than how it went for the W8.1, W10 when the tiled interface got all over the OS already!

Ban those phones back by Windows. It's really a chip phone, but dreaming to be number one by creating hype and drama. I have Windows phone, but now its resale value is nothing. Windows do u want to take this as free of cost. I will donate it to you, so that you can put it in the tub. Useless windows...

Well it will be fun to see all these apps bouncing back to windows with even universal Windows Apps in a jiffy, wait and see

Smart move by GoPro. No need to invest on something that's so unproductive. Not to mention its like putting valuable cargo on a sinking ship.
