Who was the source of that quoted number? Were they actually with Microsoft, or a local rep, and if so in what capacity?

Anonymous, 31 Mar 2016Why pay for Office 365 subscription, for the same cost each... moreof course you don't have to do that, but think of it. DropBox costs $10 per month for 1TB. For that price you got 1TB OneDrive, Office (windows, android, osx, ios), Skype (60min per month) for 5 users. Real question is why would anybody pay for anything as long as Office is that cheap.

nothing but to impress the shareholders. 1.2 billion users is nothing but an estimate of all MS office users which includes the old versions. The truth is, their share of the market is smaller than what is many years ago due to many alternatives available.

Very True Amazon is building with AWS a very compelling all in one cloud interface that could go neck and neck with Microsoft in the not too distant future. They are the only potential challenger I see coming up so far but Enterprise is where the money is and that's why Microsoft is going to be around for a very long time.

allowing 5 installations per purchase is an excellent reason for office 365. it is now common for every user using more than one device. i hope adobe could do the same. it charges so much and only allows to install on one device.

Why pay for Office 365 subscription, for the same cost each year as the older regular Office 2007 did cost for a lifetime, when LibreOffice is completely free? Why give your money to Microsoft when you do not have to?
