Anonymous, 01 Apr 2016You're literally presenting personal speculation as fact (a... moreYup, that was an approximation to serve as an example. That's why I didn't present hard numbers on the no. of hours spent in QA testing. Even with so much time and money invested in QA testing, some things like the ones you've mentioned (bricking, bending, etc.) were overlooked by whatever reasons - which resulted in a lot of angry customers. But let's not forget that Apple has to run QA testing on both the OS and the OS+hardware. (that's why more resources are spent on that)
Android phone manufacturers spend 90% less resources on QA than Apple does, because they only need to test a few aspects of a new phone (Android QA is mostly done by Google) and they don't even do thorough QA testing in order to cut down costs.

"Even if both devices let's say, huawei mate 8 and iphone 6s plus were exactly the same price I can wholeheartedly say that in terms of reliability, extracted value, customizability, hardware quality, and the dearth of android software available I got exponentially more out of the huawei device."

I can't deny that you would feel more comfortable and get a feeling of money well spent if you were to use the Mate 8 instead of the 6s Plus. That just comes down to personal needs and preferences.
However, reliability, consistent quality, security, privacy, user friendliness, and innovation are not a key point in Android phones. If you compare those two devices without taking your personal needs into consideration and you quantize everything you find, you will always see Android receive the lowest overall score out of the big three mobile operating systems. This was proved last year. I'll search for that and if I can find the article, I'll share it here.

These being said, if you've grown accustomed to using Android, you are free to use it. But that does not make it better than iOS or Windows. In fact, if I remember correctly Windows provides the best combination of awesome user experience, innovative features, UI design that is ahead of its time, stability, security, productivity, etc.

Even if both devices let's say, huawei mate 8 and iphone 6s plus were exactly the same price I can wholeheartedly say that in terms of reliability, extracted value, customizability, hardware quality, and the dearth of android software available I got exponentially more out of the huawei device.

And if it takes apple thousands of hours to add software features that brick the latest iphone (clock crash/fingerprint repair brick/..) or thousands of hours to assure the quality of a device that literally bent in your pocket (iphone 6) or thousands of hours to rename the iphone 5s and release it as the 5SE...

Then Apple are wasting their money on some of the most incompetent and inefficient engineers in existence....logic is wonderful isn't it? When you take your rose-tinted glasses and actually vet your own drivel.....

                        - $200 worth of hardware components
                        - hundreds of hours of physical design (high costs)
                        - thousands of hours of OS design and tweaking (very high costs)
                        - thousands of hours of quality assurance testing (very high costs)
All these make up for a good product.

Chinese Android phones that cost (let's say) $600:
                        - $250-$280 worth of hardware components
                        - tens of hours of physical design (very low costs)
                        - tens/hundreds of hours spent on developing custom launchers (low costs)
                        - tens of hours of quality assurance testing (very low costs)
All these make up for more powerful devices (hardware-wise) but they lack quality and consistency in quality.

the problem with china (well most of asia) for every good quality product there are many fakes and knockoffs due to no enforced copyright laws.. this makes most people who lack intelligence believe everyhting is poor quality (especialy those who end up buying the fake ones believing they are real).
