Does someone know...has htc gave up from this model? It was supposed to be launched in September but I can find no news other than ones from April. I'm considering buying xperia x compact instead.

Hope it also has thinner body, and if it's amoled screen it would be great with 12 mega ultra pixel camera along specified specs

AnonD-356210, 02 Apr 2016A9 chip beats everything.so keep looking at specsapple a9 processor are only great in single core benchmark, it will not too different on real world usage compared to HTC 10. Iphone camera are currently behind current android flagship including HTC 10 for sure.

I want worthy, true rival for Sony Z3/5 Compact. But i said "Compact", so it should be 4,5-5,0 display. Height max 130, width ~ 70mm, thickness...dont care 9, 10mm is good. Race thickness is ridiculous and impractical. I want mini/compact dimensions but with full power device.
A5 is too big, older HTC, LG mini version was bigger then Z1/3/5Compact 127 mm vs 132mm mini one and 137.4 one mini 2! HTC One mini 2 is 137.4mm with 4,5 and Nokia Lumia 930 is 137mm with 5.0 inches !
Where is competitor for Sony Z5 Compact ?! It can be even heavier and thicker, 138g and 8,9mm is rly good, 10,5mm and 155g..if it will be better performance...noooo problem!
Competitor with:
3/4GB ram (most Chipset/CPU is enough powerfull)
lil better camera (maybe with xenon, bigger sensor size), optical image stabilization, dedicated camera key(!),
removable battery, Gorilla Glass, Stereo FM radio, RDS (FM transmitter),
Dolby+, good (FLAC ) player, stereo sound rec., active noise cancellation,
good battery (min. like Z3 against perf.), aluminum frame (not stupid fragile and easy get dirty glass!),
card slot, optional dual-SIM (2sim+microSD).
And one more...Price group for Sony Z5c is...wired!
