They were the first to successfully implement 14nm FINFET in ARM CPUs. They were the first to successfully use UFS 2.0 in a smartphone. They've had the best displays in the market on smartphones for years, not only in resolution but in color accuracy.

Techwise, there's no one in the smartphone business who even comes close.

Hardly an original Samsung idea, there have been at least three attempts to do the same thing in the last ten years.
Strikes me as a bit of a cop out,5 inch "folds" out to only 7 inch, why not ten ?
The only thing of interest to me,it being an amoled type display is how they will handle the fold itself, and wether it will be active or just a very thin dead section..

Btw the edge is still a gimmick. Wait till other manufacturers find a better use for it.

Unless they do something about battery bulk, these folding phones will only make these slippery devices more prone to accidental damage. Why can't they build a smartphone with NOKIA 3XXX strengh!

Sure it probably won't be implemented perfectly at first - but any of you knuckle head commenters who bash this concept already are welcome to stick with your cartoon overpriced technology from the fruit Pied Piper of technology- until the copy it - and claim everyone else copies then - and then sue everyone!
Good for you Samsung - risk = reward.
Real innovation rather than just overpriced 'refinement' deserves credit.
