iPhone 4 launch day stories - yellow spots, spotty reception

24 June, 2010
The iPhone 4 launched officially today. Right from day one, it had to endure quite a storm - people are scrutinizing the Retina Display due to strange yellow spots, signal reception is reportedly flawed...

Good work. They managed to smash a £600 dollar device. To prove that the iphone can be broken. Duh.

What sort of idiot doesn't carry a iphone in a case anyway? It's a niche device. Would you throw around your Nokia like that? Apple have not even said that this phone is a rugged durable all terrain phone. FFS.

And the yellow spots are temporary, due to the chemical bonding. Which means no more, than the fact your iphone is fresh of the production line.

All it amounts to is more media coverage of this quality phone. Stephen Fry is the latest to fall for the iphone 4. And he prefers it to the HTC Desire and his Blackberry (which he also owns). He knows what he is talking about.

Keep up the bad work haters. Isolated incidents aren't going to stop this from stomping all over the N8.

Apple has been able to drop iphone around 10Km with parachute, and non of the iphone in the box broke.

The guy in the video who drop the iphone 4 edit the video in the second drop. He crash it with a iThor iHammer. That's the only things that can break our great iPhone and he must stole it from iSteve room. We will ask the police to return the iThor iHammer to make sure no other iphone 4 will be hurt.

Wow, that drop test was a complete fail!!!
A brand new phone dropped 4 times from just hip level, the "specially hardened "glass completely shatters and the phone just shuts off!!
                        -SAD!!!

Try dropping any any new Nokia , from a cheap 1100 to a n900 or E72, from ear level onto hard concrete, it will come out completely fine and most probably without a single scratch too.

You all must have seen the torture tests done on the Nokia 5800, stepping, dropping, running in a washing machine, drowning in water and beer. Finally they had to run a car over it to crack the screen. (the Phone was still functioning though!!!)

From my own experience, I once dropped a Nokia through a elevator shaft 3 floors up. The battery had come off and one side was slightly scratched but once I pop the battery back in, the phone worked fine.

Then I jumped into a pool with my E50 in my pocket and only realized 5 minutes later. I just dried the thing and put the battery back in, worked fine!

[deleted post]The yellow spot is a test, specially made by our great iSteve. It is a test to devide the real ibeliever and the non-ibeliever.

Only the ibeliever devices have the yellow spot gone, to those that not ipure, the device will turn yellow with white spot.

Only the ipure ibeliever deserve to hold our great iphone 4.
