BlackBerry Priv receives permanent price cut in the US and Europe

05 April, 2016
Good news if you've been eyeing the Android-powered BlackBerry Priv but haven't bought one yet. Starting today the price of a Priv sold by BlackBerry unlocked has just been dropped in the US and Europe. And this is no limited time type of deal - it's a permanent price cut.

Blackberry management is so stupid that they just deserve to exit the business.

they could use a bit of smart pricing scheme since they're trying to make a comeback.

BlackBerry is shameless about their pricing. Blimey, Moto X Pure/Style can be found for £300 in the UK.

It's an amazing device with lots of unique hardware and features, but Blackberry needs to be more aggressive with the pricing. I doubt there are hundreds of thousands of people out there that were waiting on a $50 price reduction before they buy the PRIV.
Drop the price by $100 and maybe that will result in some additional sales from people waiting for a better price, but $50 doesn't seem like enough of a price drop to create sales.
Otherwise, the PRIV is a great device!!

Yeah...still the same amount as G5 at the launch date (in UK). I don't know what people at BB were thinking. If you wanna make the return, you have to deliver on hardware and price it aggressively. Non of those happened for BB this year. Sure, some people bought it out of pure sentiment for the brand, but I don't think they can call Priv a success. Unless I'm wrong, feel free to correct me there, as I don't know the sales numbers on this one.

AnonD-289575, 05 Apr 2016Not worth more than 250 imo True. This phone is so uninspiring and with outdated hardware. You can get a G5 for its asking price. Blackberry should go away already.

Still the European prices are absurd compared to the price in the US. We always get screwed here with prices in Europe, not only phones...

AnonD-289575, 05 Apr 2016Not worth more than 250 imo Is this a joke? Cutting $50 bux off the phone is not going to change any ones mind if they were holding off to buy the phone -
The phone needs to be priced at $499 - Which fool is running the BB hardware division and pricing?
