Vivaldi browser now out of beta

In Opera/Chromium it can not and I'm well aware of /flags. The other day I was disabling that silly "smooth scrolling" thing. In Vivaldi it's one of the options by default, just as disabling smooth scrolling, no questions asked. If you know where I can disable that animation then please tell me. I couldn't find it.
Yes, Opera stopped developing, they were going through rough times for a while, although they are about to introduce a built-in ad blocker so I guess there's something going on. And they changed the logo, remember? I'm not going to argue because I use it too, when I feel like it. And yes, I'll use a product from my continent first. Different mentality, better the devil you know, support and stuff.
I agree about Chrome, tried it when it went out but then it turned into a bloated spyware simpleton and I removed it. And I know that Opera and Google made the engine together. Also, I use Firefox as my main browser, and I'm still waiting for someone to make a proper one based on Chromium. Something as light, snappy, ergonomic and configurable as FF. Opera is not bad, Vivaldi is closer to my idea of a a power browser, and you may be right about its future... But considering how much faster they made it between Beta 2 and Beta 3 I don't think it will become bloated.
As for the rest, ahem, maybe stop arguing? In one sentence you complain that people use only popular things, then you say that Vivaldi will only be for 10% of insignificant users or whatever. Actually I have no idea what your point was except to complain that someone dared to make a free browser with a few new features in the day and age when everything gets dumbed down for average people. They aren't forcing you to use it, you know?

Also you realize that there is option to dissable those animations? just like any other problem that people always have... there is option or extension for that, but people are really lazy today to play a bit with it.
Every chromium, even mobile browser have magic address of /flags
where you can change loooots of options.

Yes, of course its your opinion and its my, but there is always problem with people that they think if something is better known... its better. Well its not, I was user of chrome from its beginning where it was small and damn fast browser that changed to some monster that pretend to be princess, and just because opera use chromium engine people think its the same as opera, well its not, its browser engine and user actually have no idea about that, all what matter is interface, options and performance.
I have Opera on every device, on linux, windows and android, and even if very often I try new versions of other browsers, even Vivaldi, Opera is only one that after all those years still is fast, simple and still with good amount of options. And looking at progress of vivaldi I can say you one thing, that after some time, its gonna be nothing more but another monster that is filled with useless options that maybe 10% users use, and it gonna struggle to keep performance because of its node's that in such complex app are not that great with resources

UC for Windows is also good browser. You all should try. Working good for me.

I wanted to like Vivaldi, but it just won't respect the native widgets on my system. Everything looks out of place, and the font rendering is horrible. No thanks.

The fact that it's Chinese now and Vivaldi is European doesn't matter to some. I'm using it sometimes too even though Firefox is my main browser. As for the rest, that depends on your preferences and needs. For example, Opera has those annoying animations when I open a new tab, that's one annoyance right there in front of me. On Vivaldi I can move "close tab" buttons to the left like the rest of my interface, it's the only browser that can do it. Also it takes less space, and can "shrink" as well. I can see the page size while loading. It has a search bar. Resource usage is just a little higher, speed is actually better (check the article on GHacks today, but maybe it depends on your OS). As for the rest, it's still v1.0 and if you've been following the progress you know how much they improve with each new version... Opera seems to have stopped developing a year ago and apart from that it looks good I don't see any advantages over Firefox for me personally. Vivaldi has actual visible advantages.

I would've preferred that this browser didn't use the Chromium engine. I liked Opera until version 12, before the Chromium engine replaced Opera's engine.
But it seems I have to live with it now, as all my main browsers use it. (btw Chrome and Firefox are the worst browsers out there - just saying)

So what if it also use chrome extension? Its still not that fast as opera, its still take more resources, its still not that perfect and innovative in terms of customization, and it still have some small bugs that personally annoy me really much. not to mention that it lack proper sync system, It still have problem to remember passwords sometimes, and it cant resume downloads(at leats from sites that other browser dont have problem)
Not to mention that opera still have few good tools, that are not annoying and really handy(turbo, news bookmarks history etc etc)
This is my opinion, and I know loots of people that can back it up, Opera is what chrome should be in the first place. And Vivaldi beside "opera history behind it" and some options is nothing amazing, so what if it use NODE.JS but from user perspective it doesnt matter, what matter is speed, performance and additional options and its not actually different from any other browser in this terms.

For the moment all the google extensions works including Lastpass...I will give it a try in the next days...

One of Opera's 1% fan :o
I use all browsers for development purposes, and Vivaldi is quite good and fast, and I had test pages when it was on early beta.
Now its better (not super better), but way faster then Chrome or Firefox. Opera is quite good, people dispise it just like IE.
Funny now that Edge has some love (for me its IE13)

Well, sorry, even if new Opera is based on Chromium engine its still better than Chrome or this Vivaldi.
Opera compared to Chrome still doesnt need that much resources just to open one tab, i have better battery life using opera compared to any other chromium browser(9h on chrome, 11 on opera) and not only it have it own extension market but its compatible with chrome addons so even here is have advantage.
Opera have nice and easy syncing between my phone and PC, and some ideas like news, section or some options of bookmarks are amazing AND usable compared to other ideas in other browsers that just annoy you. Not to mention turbo mode that compress sites so when you use mobile internet or really bad wifi in bar/restaurant its really speed up things.
And all that customization like tabs on the side? Its nothing new actually, You can make all that using really small amount of extensions and time in settings.
