Hmm, I have a feeling HTC is not thinking this one through.
The impact of OIS is that the camera can use longer shutter speed to bring in more lights without risking of blurriness. This works on traditional camera usage.

However, that's not how people want to take selfie. It has to be quick between the shutter being pressed and the shutter speed. Longer shutter speed can actually be a detriment resulting in blurry pictures due to people taking down the phone too soon.

Imo having larger sensor and faster lens is the better way, while keeping shutter speed fast enough. OIS might not be the answer in this case. A gyro assisted stabilization might be a better route.

Wow, this is amazing! I use selfies often!

So HTC got the first Android OIS camera and yet Samsung copied HTC for OIS. What a shame!

S7Edge? Who the fark needs an edge screen? This call innovation? come on... Until now, I dunno what the gimmicky edge screen advantages are beside loading some silly edge apps from that laggy Touchwiz.

And Samsung still living in the cave with that silly mono tone bottom speakers?
Many brands already migrated to dual frontal stereo speakers!

Samsung should just get lost and bankrupt from the mobile scene. Samsung is a brand that everyone should be shame off and the world will be a better place to live in without this silly brand.

HTC is the king of smartphones. Apple emulates HTC while Samsung emulates Apple. HTC is the only company that broad Android into the market. Can I say the same about Windows as well ? Lol. HTC leads and the rest follows. HTC is the trendsetter. IPhone 6 design was stolen from M7 + m8. I can't wait to have m10 together with my m8. Nonetheless, keke for life no matter what

First of all...people are right, Saygus was first on that field. And second of all...yes, OIS on frontal camera is a bit odd, but there is a weird logic behind it. Let me explain. HTC is Taiwanese company. Taiwan is in Asia. Asian people live there. You're with me? No? Okay. First of all, I'm not being racist here. My girlfriend is Asian and I love her to bits, with that being said...in just over a year she managed to "produce" approximately 8000 photos, which 6000 of those were selfies (then she run out of memory XD). Anyway...HTC being an Asian company, have the mentality to meet the expectations of their own market in the first place. And as much as this selfie phenomenon is bizarre, it is present. So before you go on and spit the venom towards HTC, think about that one for a second. Just hopefully HTC won't overshoots with the price...but sadly they usually do.

Are you in denial? The comments here explicitly tells the advantages of having an OIS in the front camera!

"HTC failed already, personally, i wouldnt buy a camera phone, real camera costs less. "

Obviously real cameras cost less, but can they do anything that a phone can do? Can they game? Can they play music? Can they call? Knowing flagship phones, with their $800+ price tags, may as well make the camera worth the price.
