AnonD-526390, 15 Apr 2016Nexus 6 has a lot of problems wich have not resolved yet. ... moreWell, it seems yours is an isolated case. try to fasctory reset your phone... and about the battery drain, rememebr that google said that android N is still not optimized for battery life and performacnce, they are first correcting bugs and adding the features before focusing on that (like we programmers usually do).

iOS has little to offer, if at all, when it comes to OS customizations - that's a fact!

Wifi not working, rebooting during calls, much battery drain with last update.

The N version is really good. With notification with response access in the lock screen really looks neat. Otherwise, lots of pruning of features and multi-window may not be great for mobile phones (for Tablets it is different)....Some apps may not work, but in general you are not stuck with a dead phone....

If my wicked leaks wammy note 3 doesn't get this update OTA within 1 week I will be here complining like "rip google" and "google must be drunk".

It is good to know that Google is releasing the third developer kit for Android N as quickly, this indicates how Google people are taking seriously the next iteration of android. But they should immediately stop the mad race of naming android alphabetically(on desserts) like android A,B,C,D,E,F,G,...........M,N......X,Y,Z......AB,AC,.....AZ........etc, instead they should stop at Android N and name it "Android Nucleus "with version number 7.0 and try to fix bugs and optimise it for performance and also try to bring in new features, so that android lovers feel not isolated and frustrated when a new iteration is brought, instead consumers they will feel secure with the same Android Nucleus. Also Google then try to bring in new updates by removing malware and cleaning the same Android Nucleus by versions say version 7.0, 7.1,7.2,7.3,........7.9, for a few years, so that android is able to consolidate as a OS and also it's users feel secure and empowered. Hope Google listens for their own betterment.

My greatest wish for Android:
Google baking default/basic barebones drivers for different chipsets into their releases.
OEMs releasing updated drivers and apps on their app stores.
Just like good old windows desktops/laptops.

1, 13 Apr 2016Yet another useless update. Android hasn't had any signific... moredude, i will tell you, KitKat>marshmallow>lollipop. So Android N might be very comparable to kitkat, since google will try to reduce memory usage of system, so it will work better for low-mid range devices as well a little bit on high end. You didnt have marshmallow and you judge already... Marshmallow wasnt a big jump in UI changes from lollipop, BUT i would recommend having marshmallow over slow lollipop, marshmallow is wayy faster and more smooth than lollipop. Though kitkat is still dominating for me. I dont have nexus so i cant see how android n perform, but there are a lot of UI changes. i have some crappy samsung device, with 800 mhz soc, 600 mb ram. I tried kitkat for 1 year, lollipop 1 year, marshmallow ~2 months and i know that im talking about. At the end, i went back to kitkat, which works the best for my device. Though i really believe android N will finally replace KitKat, though, it will need about 1 year after realease so it will be a lot more popular.

About Vulkan API. It was developed by the Khronos Group, mainly for computers. From the way the article was written people might think Google made that API.

Android hasn't had any signific... moreMarshmallow has an amazing feature, which i manual disabling of permissions per app. With previous version you either accept all permissions or not use the app. With Marshmallow you can pick want you want to let the app access to at your own will.
Maybe most people don't see an advantage to that. But for me it's very useful.
