It's called exchange rate. Actually quite simple if you think about it. It all depends on how the dollar stacks up to other countries currency.

ashyjay92, 15 Apr 2016considering how much cheaper the US and canadian prices are... morethe only problem with your basis on price is , the price difference is due to import taxes , duties and customs. which are much lower in the usa. hence why you pay a higher price. htc gets the exact same amount regardless where they sell it. its the government that gets the difference.

Just don't buy it, and that will teach companies ho to give with 1 hand and take from the other! As we don't know that even those headphones costed the company not more then $10!!!!

This seems like a good move from HTC, they're doing the US and Canadians a favor by introducing the phone at a lower price. Whilst the rest of us get some extras for paying the full retail price. :)

In my opinion, this is another poor move from HTC. First they do not sell the phone on ATT, then they open for pre-orders but do not have a specific date for shipping, and now they take away the headphones...Come on HTC, we all know that these cost you next to nothing. Even at the US price the phone is expensive and now they remove the headphones, not cool.
I hate to say it, but someone at HTC needs to pay attention to what Samsung is doing and learn from them. I am actually one of those people who was going to pre-order the HTC10, but now will wait to see what else they take away...

Thankfully for HTC none of these people ranting were goimg to buy the 10 to begin with.
I mean come on guys... The US is getting the phone at a lower price already, and everyone has a set of headphones lying around. In my opinion HTC is doing you a favor, if anything. If you want the headphones you order them separately in their web page, and you get both items sent the same day. Otherwise you just saved a few bucks in something you didn't need anyway.
