AMOLED is **** because you won't find a single panel without color banding and often they are poorly calibrated resulting in severe black crush. all the plebs say HUR DUR MY PHONE DOESNT HAVE THAT
then i look at their screen for a few seconds and instantly see it. subhumans like that are the cancer that's killing quality in the smartphone industry.

Anon, 16 Apr 2016Apple bought a company to do it. Samsung did it its self. Do you actually think Samsung have done everything they do from scratch since the startup of "Samsung" (with for that mater is a conglomerate, consisting of alot of companies). If that is the case its time to wake up :) Companies, including Samsung, acquire other companies all the time to bring new knowledge inhouse.

Apple bought P. A. Semi in 2008. Its not like they had the A9 SoC developed at that time. It has been developed by people employed by Apple.

Now after using OLED screens on Apple products we will see a huge change of events with Apple fan boys. They will suddenly start talking how awesome is it. Not because they like it but because the same reason that makes them somehow believe that LCD is better than OLED. And i can see what reason they are holding on is the burin-in. guys i don't even know what that is and i have been using samsung since s2. And mostcof my firends do.

Taking about SoC, Samsung does certainly not both design and manufator it. Samsung have not even design there own custom ARM CPU core until recently with the M1 core in Exynos 8890. Apple have been doing their own CPU core design since A6 with the Swift CPU core.
