            @Johnny: "Who is to blame?"

These rates only apply to European cell phone customers. Rogers may charge what Rogers wants.

3G/GPRS charge should be NO MORE than 1 euro per megabyte. I can't believe they are able to still charge so much for data!

I use Bel BASE prepay network and i pay only 10€ to get all this 500MB internet data, 120 SMS, and 60min free call to BASE network.
BASE network is still slow like EDGE even is shown on phone screen 3G or 3G+ and video call is only in capital and part of Antwerp i guess.

there are so many reasons why the UK shouldnt be in the EU and i could write an essay on why it's awful awful awful

but it's pathetic how we're all happy that we're saving a few pence on calls when we're paying £40m a day just to be in the trade bloc in the first place!!!

                              EU Data Roaming Legislation 2010

From 1st July 2010, under EU regulation, EU Data Roaming charges MUST be capped for all customers at £40 (inc. VAT), in any one billing cycle, without prior notice to the customer.

Although the legislation applies only to the EU, O2 will apply the £40 (inc. VAT) cap to roamed data usage both in the EU and the Rest of the World (ROW).

This is to prevent customers running up large bills on data usage in error whilst abroad and hence prevent bill shock.

This section details all the information you need to know to assist customers with any questions they may have.

Changes to Voicemail Charges Whilst Roaming
                                What are we doing?
From 1st July 2010, EU regulation will be implemented that prevents networks from charging customers when a voicemail is left whilst they are roaming abroad in the EU (whether this has been listened to or not).

                                What happens now?
Currently customers are charged for someone leaving them a voicemail whilst they are travelling (whether they have listened to the message or not)

                                Dates of campaign
1st July 2010 there is no end date.

                                Who is eligible?
                                Pre pay
                                Pre pay retention
                                Pay Monthly
                                Pay Monthly retention
                                VIP
                                BCS
                                How will this affect customers?
Customers will no longer be charged for someone leaving them a voicemail whilst they are travelling in the EU.

                                Pay & Go
Due to system constraints the customer will initially be charged when a voicemail is left. This will be visible on real time credit balances as it is now. Customers will then be credited back the cost of the voicemail within 24 hours of being charged for the voicemail. It is likely that the credit will be received back within 6 hours however if a customer calls querying a credit please advise that it could take up to 24 hours.

If a customer calls to advise that they haven’t received their credit then please follow the EU voicemail charge whilst roaming query process.

Companion – Pay Monthly and BCS

Customers will no longer see charges for this call type on their itemised bill as they will be zero rated.

DISE – Pay Monthly, BCS and Corporate

Customers will no longer see charges for this call type on their itemised bill as they will be zero rated.

How will customers find out about the changes?
                                Pay & Go
On travelling to a country in the EU customers will receive the following message to explain the Voicemail process.

O2Roaming: Whilst in Europe if someone leaves you a voicemail you’ll be charged 14ppm, but don’t worry we’ll refund it back to you as soon as we can.

                                Pay Monthly, BCS and Corporate
This is not being communicated directly to O2 customers however customers will no longer see the charge appear on their bill.

What does the Advisor need to do?
Make sure you’re familiar with the changes.
