I live in Indonesia, here, honor available to purchase from huawei retailer, but only older models.. (honor 7 and 5x still not available). Actually honor is a sub-brand from huawei but using strategy similar like xiaomi (you can only buy online to shave some cost, so honor relatively has more cheaper price than huawei), since huawei and honor has separated management, so that's why perhaps huawei seller fooling you to lure customers to buy their (huawei) product instead honor.. the relation between huawei and honor is just like toyota and lexus, of course each seller always claiming their products is the best because the more that seller can sell the more bonus they can get, so what you've experienced there is just competition between retailer/seller.. Huawei G8 is last year model which has literally the same specs as honor 5x but far more expensive than honor 5x.. and honor 7 is just like upgraded or better specs version of huawei P8.. if you want to know about honor products, just go check reviews online or youtube..

Honor phone only authorize selling online in Malaysia, so local Huawei authorize seller cant sell Honor phone at retailer shop. The sale person lie to you just to get the sale from you.

Hello everyone,
I faced a worst experience with Huawei store in Penang Malaysia. I went there to buy Honor 7e (32GB) model. Sales person in the store simple saying that dont by honor 7 or honor 5x those are not good products and 5 out of 10 are coming with problems. Then I asked why your saying that , then which phone should I buy , he said go for huawei g8. He aslo said, Honor is a Huawei brand for testing there products. When ever Huawei want to release one new model, they will test similar specs on honor device and they starting selling them, After few days they will hear feed back from consumers like what are all the draw backs on the device then they will release a new device in Huawei with similar specs.
This is really wired and disappointing thing which I have faced. Never expected such Ans :( . Did anyone else faced such issue?
Honor means putting our money for company testing ? really sad.
Then I purchased Lenovo , As I dont have anyother option in that budget range.
