lawatiam, 21 Apr 2016Saying Free is misleading. It is a free TRIAL and then you ... moreDid you try it in Developer version or regular? Although I haven't used it yet but I Opera has released free VPN in developer version. The reason that I haven't tried it yet is that it can only work for the browsing through Opera browser. All the other activities including mail client, cloud etc will remain open for hackers. Hence, I am still using Ivacy VPN to secure all of my online activities.

hm, well, sounds really cool in theory. but i feel like even if it is for now, it won't stay free forever. if it performs well, becomes popular and consequently receives heavy traffic, it'll either cease to perform well or require the usual subscription plans to improve the network and regulate traffic. just my prediction

regs, 21 Apr 2016Will it allow to bypass Russian Firewall?I've heard that Opera is quite popular in Russia, so this might be one reason for integrating VPN.

AnonD-411799, 21 Apr 2016bullshit, opera mini use to be my fav browser on 2g network... moreI think on Opera Mini Browser there is 2 kind of compression .
One that is simple and do about %60 while the other can make %90 compression
In case you were using the %60 compression then I would advise you to open the settings and change it to %90

I want u opera to use Microsoft Edge engine, or at least allow as to choose between chromium and edge. I find Edge engine blazing fast, low on resources compared to chromium on my laptop.

Opera is continuing delivering new, exciting features with every new release. They don't just follow other web browsers, they are making they own mark and I like it. I like when companies think with their own head and not just follow others.
