Apple drops the iPhone prices in Japan by 10%

22 April, 2016
The price drop is most probably due to exchange rates recalculations; recent purchases will be refunded.

To be fair I wonder how the iPhone got so popular there. If I recall it never had (could be changed on the 6/6s but I doubt) the Japanese "wallet phone" (osaifu keitai) payment systems for literally everything, the infra red contact sync, digital TV and the likes that other phones there, feature phones or smartphones had.
Wonder if they added anything to Japanese iPhones, since FeliCa isn't compatible with NFC, they use different frequencies.

Refunding the extra amount for all purchases made in last 14 days is really a good move. This also adds upto brand value and customer loyalty.
