4.7 or 5.2 would be the best. Under 5" is easy to carry, so I prefer under 5.

I know it's not practical, but I'm kinda sick of rectangular displays.
Go crazy for once! Do a square screen or even a round one! That would be so cool!
Don't tell me it's not possible. If they can do them on watches and car dash boards, they can do it on smartphones too.

The best screen size for smartphone is 4.0 - 4.7 inch

I think I must be an idiot to buy a phone with screen size less than 5.7inch to read ebooks working with documents or watching movies or similar kind of things so no brain need

I'd have rather asked "What's the best phone size", as most people want the screen as big as it can be in a phone the size they want. For me it'd be around 4.5"

I'm a 6'-0" guy, so with big hands. The best cell for me is the 5.5" one, but with the minimal overall outside dimensions.

There is nothing called best screen size. rather, an optimal screen size depends on way you use your phone. For example, l need to read documents everyday, hence l like screen size of (or more than) 5.7 inch

It only depends on what users really need to use their device for. Most users today use the device for chatting and call only. While some use it for watching movies and mp3. I have nexus 6 and its perfect for me.

instead of just focusing on screen size, why not focus as well on limiting the size of the bezels. case in point: the sony xperia c5 ultra. 6 inches squeezed in the size of an iphone 6 plus.
another would be the LG G4. we can have a big 5.5 inch screened phone but still have it in the size of a 5 incher.

I'll go between 5.2" to 5.5" (with thin bezel like note 5).
Below 5" is no go, too small
Above 5.5" I have one hand handling issue :D :D

The screen size between 5"-5.3" is the sweet spot. The phone won't be too bulky,
And at the same time good to use.
