JXD S192 "retro" gaming tablet is powered by Nvidia's Tegra K1 chipset

22 April, 2016
The tablet has similar specs to Nvidia's own Shield tablet, unfortunately this includes the bad stuff.

Im not stupid. Im not one of their customers! Better start doing something that will sell on its own instead having to shove it inside my hand

Zeus, 23 Apr 20161920X1080 pixels on a 7/8 inch results in 424 ppi?? ..... ... moreAnd do you think many people would opt to get a 1440 resolution or an 8k android Gaming tablet? Having a 1080 is already a level of an android gaming tablet. Wherein 4k or 8k resolution gaming doesn't differ if the game only runs at 1080. Is there a tegra games that requires a higher resolution than the 1080?

Kibaikasu, 23 Apr 2016RAM memory is usually not as important as GPU when it comes... moreWe've been emulating those games since 448MB ram of HD2 and they ran just fine.. 2GB is enough because you don't play 2 or more games at the same time.. And you don't keep the game at the background rather you make sure the game is saved and quit it properly.. Plus the powerful processor will reduce the ram usage as more data can be processed on the processor cache and not needed to be offload to ram

This product is a "concept", because although they can created the prototype and show it to people they produce it for sale. I think people would have bought it awhile ago, and have even pre-ordered it. Now...you can't even pre-order it.

I believe since we've waited so long, now the tech will be dated.

Can't even buy it right now......horrible. 5 months and counting...

RAM memory is usually not as important as GPU when it comes to mobile gaming, but this is a bit beyond mobile games. This is more along the lines of emulation, which DOES require a bit more RAM than your average Candy Crush/Tetris/Bejeweled. Even compared to more complex games like Soul Craft or Dungeon Hunter, emulating old N64/PS1/PS2/X-Box will use more RAM for the necessary processes to run correctly. Even older consoles like SNES/Genesis will require a bit more juice depending on what game is being played (obviously, games like Mario RPG and Star Fox with the advanced graphics chips will use more than, lets say, Super Mario World or A Link to the Past). This is especially true if you're constantly switching between games, as low RAM can cause the tablet to crash if too much goes on at once.

Anonymous, 22 Apr 2016Idea for next gaming tablet: 7-inch or 8-inch FullHD scr... moreWhy the ram? It's not very useful to games, especially mobile ones.

6GB should be what phones and proper tablets have to eliminate loading though caching. Gaming machines don't do much loading, since we rarely play 3 games at the same period. And at least 2 could stay at the same time in memory if nothing else is used...

Gaming machines , especially an android one (android gamers are not as demanding as iphone's) can get away with fewer specs. It's general every day usage that need the best specs (especially in Ram and Cpu department).

Anonymous, 22 Apr 2016Idea for next gaming tablet: 7-inch or 8-inch FullHD scr... moreIs that it? You should have elaborated some more like:
                - 7 to 8 inch display with 1920 by 1080 FHD display and atleast 424 PPI
                - 4 to 6 LPDDR4 ram
                - 64 or 128GB storage with expandable memory up to 200GB. Having a secondary microSD card slot is also a good idea.
                - 6,000 to 8,000 mah battery with fast charging technology. And a wireless charging tech.
                - 8MP front facing camera, and a 13MP Main Camera with flash
                - Two Yamaha front facing speakers with Dolby Surround sound and a higher volume clarity.
                - Uses a tegra X1 processor with a heatsink technology.
                - Is able to have a magnetic port for docking controllers and keyboard.
                - Have MicroUSB port and MicroSD port covers to prevent dust and critters from entering inside the tablet.
                - Runs on latest android version and firmware should be updatable.
                - Should have an accelerometer and gyro for gaming, While also having a compass, barometer and thermometer with a pre-installed app for these sensors.

Anonymous, 22 Apr 2016Idea for next gaming tablet: 7-inch or 8-inch FullHD scr... moreYou could probably buy a console and a Tegra shield for that price.

Based on their past machine jxd have really badly designed controls, like a cheap knock off ps1 pad, very disappointing, yes, the hardware on paper sounds great, but it feels almost as bad as atari jaguar controller

                        Idea for next gaming tablet:

                        7-inch or 8-inch FullHD screen
                        Tegra X1

                        32GB/64GB storage
                        Android 6.0.1 (latest)

Its on the expensive side, guess it depends on how good the physical controls feel.
