mir, 23 Apr 2016I'm sorry but the difference is worlds apart between the S7... morecamera opens wayy faster? thats CPU/software side, though difference is minimal, and power user would not care about this at all. Note series are maybe good till note 3. All newier samsung smartphones and all other new smartphones are hardly rootable, and we can forget custom roms. Love that s5 is very good with custom roms still. I have galaxy ace 2, yes, its damn old, from 2012 mid ranger. But jesus, with custom rom i can run marshmallow on it! official software from samsung is jelly bean 4.1.2 touchwizz. Maybe you know what i mean about restrictions? these bootloader locks are sh*t. The best power smartphone and probably my dream phone if i was at 2013 would be nexus 5 since it was the best smartphone ever except about camera, though i dont need good camera still using 5mpx or 8mpx one cant remember which exactly my phone has. So yeah. Thats sad for me, hard to choose phone which would support custom roms as well have decent camera (not expensiviest one!!!) i will have to wait long time i guess, maybe this year nexus will flip everything over? who knows, i hope so.

Its way faster to open the app and take a photo. Faster autofocus and more consistent shots. Not to mention the low light capabilities are massively improved since the S5. You're just not the type of person who likes to use the camera much. And these devices are pretty much aimed at power users anyway. But get the Note series if you want performance and features that badly. Even if you actually don't really use them at all in real life.

If you've got official statements that suggested otherwise, I would like to know.

Nor in Russia, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Ucrania, Belgium , Greece, South Africa, Mexico, Argentina, etc.

Great global market, indeed!!! Only for the most powerful countries!!! And only in the weakest version of the phone, with the CPU and GPU weaker.

The production rate of 820 (and other top-level chips) are still limited by the fab lines and the only smart thing to do for phone manufactures was to use this limited supply on higher end devices first, because that gives them a bigger boost to the brand and provide higher profit margins. Mi5 is pretty much the cheapest you can buy for now and even that is hard to get. You'll have to pay more for phones you could easily get, or you'd have to wait longer for cheaper choices to come up.

Still has the good camera but is also waterproof, stupidly fast autofocus (believe me - you'll see the difference between the S5) and curved amoled screen with swipe and edge features that are proving to be very useful i.m.o. I have way less screen pages and better one handed productivity. Indoor night shots are impressive too.
I agree though - everyone's about the camera this year. We need more innovation / new ideas.

This phone is out from my list. I look down on Leica. Leica can sell their soul (the brand) for the sack of money!
The lens is made by Sunny not Leica.
Their so call co-engineer is doing some calculation, software enhancement and few Leica style effect.

xiaomi mi 5 - mixed, but about camera (4 axis OIS), budget smartphone
Can someone release a phone for power user? like nexus? though they are going in camera way too... jesus how far camera can change? as a normal person i can not see any diffrence between s7 or s5 camera.. i just want a phone with decent camera and FHD + latest SoC with enough ram.. I dont want to pay extra money for 'extra' camera which adds no visual changes at all...
