All I will tell you is that being an owner of th Exynos version it runs cool and battery easy lasts more than a day. Maybe when my Exynos does it time I will get the snapdragon version with 32GB just to see the differences...unless a later S series inspires me to upgrade. I certainly don't want the S6 nor the S7.

AnonD-1385, 25 Apr 2016Maybe you are the one who need to get your facts straight. ... more1. Its slower in single core performance while slightly faster in multi core. I'd call this a draw since single core is the most important performance metric considering how poorly coded android's apps usually are

    2. Both have 933 Mhz ram. Get your facts checked. Also, the Snapdragon actually gets a higher throughput on its ram than the exynos.

    3. This might be true but i felt the sound was the same on SD81 powered G2.

    4. Both support the same SD card standard, not sure why its even relevant.

    5. Wrong again, they both have the same storage. The only reason you're seeing 10GB is that you're comparing the Exynos version to carrier locked american ones, instead of the G900I or the G900F.

    6. Now you're making things up ? I have not seen anywhere that the Exynos S5 has more free ram than the SD801 powered S5. Even if the Exynos version has more free RAM, it is still terrible at RAM management.

    7. This is a phone, not a VM server. 99% of the users will never need it and it only provides a boost to virtualization, the SD810 will still be able to do it but it'll just be slower.

    8. Wrong again, the SD801 actually has BETTER battery life than the Exynos version.

Check the comparison here - http://www.techspotindia.com/reviews/smartphones/octa-core-samsung-galaxy-s5-performance-review/articleshow/47744210.cms

Also, the Exynos 7420 in the S6 is completely different from the 5422 in the S5. Samsung learned a lot from the shitty 5422 and made the 7420 much better (iteratively through the 5430 and 5433). The reason all S6 phones had the Exynos is also because qualcomm screwed up with their terrible SD810 and Samsung had to use their Exynos chip instead.

Anonymous, 25 Apr 2016Get you damn facts correct before posting wrong information... moreBoth international versions of the S5 (the G900H and G900F) are winners in their own ways but personally I prefer the advantages of the G900H compared to the G900F even without LTE being onboard.

Anonymous, 25 Apr 2016Get you damn facts correct before posting wrong information... moreMaybe you are the one who need to get your facts straight. Though the G900I wasn't designed specially for India, the G900H was not designed specifically for India either. The G900H is designed for any country who wants to go with a octa-core CPU over a quad-core one. It's popular in the Americas/Latin America. Not having LTE is no big deal for me as many countries still haven't adopted to LTE as yet and in some cases a mature 3G/3.5G network gives faster results than a young LTE network.

Here are the advantages of S5 Exynos version which is NOT present in the Snapdragon variant:

              1. More powerful cpu. The HMP 5422 is around 20% more powerful than snapdragon 801.

              2. Faster RAM. Exynos s5 has 933 mhz ram over 800 mhz of snapdragon version.

              3. Much better DAC. Exynos s5 has wolfson DAC which will provide a much better sound output over snapdragon s5 which has qualcomm DAC.

              4. Full UHS I speed support.: The exynos s5 supports full class 10 ultra sd card speeds upto 70 MB/S which qualcomm doesn't.

              5. More internal memory. It has 11.5 GB free whereas snapdragon version has 10 GB free.

              6. Better ram management: exynos s5 has around 300 mb more free ram over snapdragon s5.

              7. Exynos 5422 has the capability to supports hardware-assisted visualization, Snapdragon 801 does not have this.

              8. Exynos powered Galaxy S5 is more power efficient, as during low work load it can only use its Little cores to save battery juice, Snapdragon variant does not have that option.

It was stated that the only reason why the Exynos version doesn't have LTE because at the time Samsung wasn't able to get LTE to work with their Exynos chipset WHICH they solved a year after with the release of the S6. Every S6 has a Exynos chipset in case you didn't know.

Get you damn facts correct before posting wrong information. The model sold in India is not the G900I (which as a Snapdragon 801 and LTE) but rather the G900H (Exynos crap without LTE)

got my Marshmallow 6.01 this morning here in Moscow finally.
my S5 was only on lolipop 5.0 so changes are huge ! but only visually i'm afraid.
Yes it works a little smoother now but that's about it..
