they should have upgrade android version also. MIUI's experience is going great so far but their phones are recline upon android...not upon MIUI. so, they do have attention on theirs android version.

Silly people in the comments who don't know how to use phones. MIUI is so far the best OS you can get on a phone. Lag? Seriously? What are you doing to your phones that make MIUI lag? MIUI is pretty much iOS in only one way and that's that it doesn't lag.

MIUI 8's new previews are amazing. Very fluid and on Mi 5 that's going to add up to an unstoppable force for Xiaomi. I mean not that it wasn't already unstoppable. Mi 5's benchmark beats the pants off of all other smartphones already at a whopping 180k.

AnonD-530728, 27 Apr 2016Miui 7 on Redmi 2 (1gb version) is still on kk 4.4.4Yes but since Xiaomi don't update android version on their low budget and mid range phone, they only update the MIUI version so it is up to date....that is why you got MIUI 7 in kitkat but MIUI 7 originally base on Lolipop...

            O.0
Why did 6.4" suddenly become designated as a MAMMOTH phone...lolx

Back in 2014 7inch phones were the craze, even today many china smartphone brands churn out a premium 6" to 7" phone for phablet lovers. A happy middle ground for those who want more real estate on their handheld device, but do not wat to lug around a tablet.
Personally I have used the phablets from Coolpad, Elephone and Letv and can't wait for this Mi Max. Hopefully it does not use subpar yesteryear's specs!
            thx

kurotsuki, 26 Apr 2016Rather than the look, I'm more sceptism on Xiaomi's approac... morewhat are you talking about? miui6 and 7 already HAS features of Android 6.0 even the base is on lollipop (different approach of DOZE and already have permission management in which even miui5 already have it). The only difference of MIUI7 with marshmallow base the DOZE feature combined with its RAM management of MIUI.

Anonymous, 27 Apr 2016thats why i said miui is bloated and slow (like Lagwiz)if you buy from the unofficial distributor, yes, the ROM is bloated (case mi4c/mi5 pro). If you are Chinese user actually MIUI wont be considered bloated since most of the Chinese regions find the bundled apps installed is functional in daily life. IF you buy from official distributor and the product is globally sold, no the rom is not bloated (case mi4i, redmi 2).

Unlike ugly miui which is looked like a trash, copying ios ui, missing app drawer, can not "auto" sort apps alphabetically, can not search app, removing app leaves an ugly hole in home screen.

MIUI(7) sucks. Currently owning Mi5 and it feels slower than my Mi3(Mokee ROM). So slow in opening apps and one of the worst memory management.

Waiting for unlocking bootloader and flashing a different ROM.

Hence, I don't have high hopes for MIUI8 also.

Anonymous, 26 Apr 2016u always have full customization over that miui interface a... moreRather than the look, I'm more sceptism on Xiaomi's approach on MIUI. MIUI 7 which was based on Android 6.0 was stripping a lot of it's new features. One of them is separate prompt for permission for apps which only prompted when the app actually try to access certain data (vs one time permission for all at install time). Google made Android more secure, and Xiaomi stripping that effort. What a waste.
