tmobile rolled out full HSDPA 7.2 throughout the network by the launch of the nexus one (january 1, 2010), as of today there are about 15 cities with HSPA+ 21mbps; there is talk of that moving to HSPA+ 42mbps once the rollout of 21 is complete which will be end of 2010/beginning of 2011

From looking at the pictures of Viderant and Captivate, they 2 completely different designed phones. Is the picture of Captivate a demo/dummy picture because it looks nothing like the Viberant, Galaxy from T-Mobile.

[deleted post]It has Google Nav within the Google Maps app. I used it today. It requires you to download the voices for Nav before using though which is right in the Market.

No front facing camera because the networks in the states cant handle video calls. Its one reason I believe the iphone4 only allows video chat over wifi, they didnt want to call out AT&T and make them look bad so they said its only wifi at first(BECAUSE AT&T CANT SUPPORT IT). The only ones offering video calls is sprint and thats only because they added WiMax support. This has always been the reason when phones go to the states the take off the front facing camera. Just like they did back in 2006 with my Cingular 8525, it was a Hermes/TyTn with out "FFC". Really after moving to Kuwait and seeing the rest of the world have 7.2Mbps for years and switch to 14.4Mbps and then 21.6Mbps at the end of last year I was shocked that AT&T was one of the faster ones coming in at 3.6Mbps!!!! HAHAHA. I know at the end of 2009 and begining of 2010 they were upgrading a few networks but instead of really upgrade the carriers either finally put in a 7.2 network or completely jumped ship and added WiMax. What happened to 14.4 and 21.6 and LTE????? And on top of that they charge an arm and a leg with a super low cap. Why do American carriers charge for using your phone as a router or modem for you computer!?! That has nothing to do with their network and is something that is handled at the phone level with software. But it looks like they charge $15 or $30 a month for people to do it. Man what a joke!! I will stay overseas for as many more years that I can.

-includes a gyroscope (maybe the first android?)
-3g bands include 850 instead of 900
Does anyone know if I will be able to get an unlocked version? Or can I buy one off-contract from AT&T and have them ship to Canada?

T-Mobile is releasing the Samsung Vibrant on July 15th, this is a full 3 days before At&t releases the Samsung Captivate.

Same here, woulda bought that one but dang.. no flash. They remove the front facing camera on the original design but they forgot to put flash.
