I think the Chromebooks will get a boost in sale when we can run some Google Play apps in them. And it finaly was announced recently. So it will be a different story in the near future.

I don't know about rest of the world but in Australia these things have been rejected. Didn't see these devices in most big stores here. I could only find 2 models of chromebook from officeworks and thats all. But for the price they ask I think windows 10 laptops are better option.

Yes you can do things you stated but only if you are connected to internet.

but yes a laptop without macos or windows os is useless. for web the tablets are much more portable and nicer to use

the reason I bought chromebook is becos of affordable with good battery life.
If the price is expensive then I rather go for macbook or others ultrabook
