12 July, 2010
BlackBerry latest touch mobile OS version 6.0 was made official a couple of months back and while we haven’t seen a real product out on the market running it, here comes a second demo video of the new UI...

W... morehow on earth are you comparing symbian to bb os? bb has ONLY ONE OS which is run on EVERY one of thier phones (from highest flagships down to thier beat around phones i.e. pearl)... symbian is for nokia's medocre phones. If you want a real toy, step ur game up to maemo or meego. im running an n900 and it has more capability in terms of integration of social networking, better internet (due to mozilla, flash, open gl support etc.)... dont compare apples to oranges...

Nice animated Demo, but let's wait for the real/live thing and see if RIM has executed to the same level as their marketing people's imaginations.

Yawn.... BB needs to hire better graphic designers. That OS looks boring iPhone showed companies that even business users want a graphically well engineered OS. Now with Samsung's Galaxy S coming out in 2 days even iPhone iOS 4 will look dated.

[deleted post]Think before you say something and you might save yourself embarrassment. It meant that Apple setting a standard (high or low is up to you) that makes it popular, means that Android will also produce great phones, TO COMPETE against Apple. Same also with Blackberry who now are trying to step up their game with Blackberry 6.0.

He was talking in general, and all in all, a pretty fair comment. Wasn't a super technical comment, but it is pretty safe to say that the iPhone is very popular, and if it were really a very bad phone, people would have stopped buying it by now.

Maybe you should cut people some slack before attacking them. You are entitled to your opinion, no need to get rude about it.

From the iPhone 4 all the way back to orig it has been missing key and basic cellphone features that's technically YEARS OLD in older non-touch phones until this recent front face cam for the iPhone 4.Not to mention that the latest' antenna problems are well...a phone should be able to make, sustain and receive calls.Period.Hardly anything "great" now isn't it?

BB OS 6 are a good progression but will RIM repeat Nokia's mistake at late late release windows? We shall see.Problem now with RIM they're more adept at renaming and facelifting their product portfolio so much as the hardware actually gimps the software in the equation.

I'm still shocked for example that apart from that leaked BB 9800 slider there isn't any more news for a full touch Storm 3 or a landscape QWERTY BB.

Looks like an improvement over the previous os though I see the address book is still 'words on white' so that means a lot of the other menus prob will still be too - nothing affecting useability but always felt unfinished to me.

What I liked about BBs was the focus on communication. I think the other OS are indeed capable of more but its not something I am bothered about - I dont need it to do other stuff.

BB is so yesterday, guess BB users have to wait till its OS v10 to be on par with todays iphone OSX, Android, WP7. Epic fail.

Having a 2 or 3 horse race in my opinion will be preferable for consumers as it will result in more competition resulting in better phones. The high standard set by Apple, is resulting in great phones from the Android camp, and Blackberry is now feeling the heat. This in turn will push them to produce even better products as well. Looking at the above, I welcome what the future brings :)
